Using CC0 images in commercial items

I know how CC0 works, so that's not the question though :) But I am wondering how DAZ perceives the use of CC0 images as it clearly states that everything you use in your work has to be your own, so I can image there is a restriction from DAZ's perspective. Any official ruling on this?

Where? In what context?
Hmm, I have seen it written somewhere, several times and now, of course. Perhaps it's a lack of my English. I have read through the Publishing Documentation, the Terms of Service and the EULA and am unable to find such a statement. But I did come across some contests in the DAZ forums with that statement. I am thinking I might had the two mixed up.
I can't see it's any of DAZ' business what other stuff you're using in your work, except maybe if your creating promo pictures for the DAZ store where there may be a copyright problem (which there shouldn't be with CC0 images anyway, though you can't always be sure where the images come from so be careful).
I have to admit I have never come across any contests or challenges on the Daz site that have said anything about using Creative Commons items at all.
THe only time that Creative Commons may get mentioned is to make it certain that people realise and understand that just because things are given away as freebies it does not mean that they are under a Creative Commons license.
"Everything you use in your work has to be your own" is pretty much the exact opposite of Daz's policy, since their whole business model is built on selling you things which aren't your own for you to use in your own work.
I doubt if there are many products in the store, or pictures in the gallery, in which every single bit was built from scratch by the author.
It might be a case of me simpy overthinking it. I think that sending in a ticket might be a sure way to get feedback on DAZ's point of view in this.
Since OP mentioned Publishing Documentation, it was probably in reference to products you want to sell, and indeed you can't include other people's work in your product (add-ons for a required product is not the same since they don't include the required product). Merchant ressources are an exception as they're intended to be used in product creation, but even with merchant resources you're supposed to modify them and not include them directly as is.
From what I understand of CC0 licence, CC0 images could be considered as merchant resources IMO. But I would advise the OP to check with Daz directly via a support ticket as they're the only ones who can give a definitive answer.
