Did you have this issue?

Hi everyone. I am using DAZ for quite a long time. Few days ago I faces few things, that really bothers me.

1) I am member of Planum club and had membership till november of 2009. On Friday I notices that 70 dollars gone from my account. I was charged full price for PC membership, despite I can buy this for half price right now. When I looked in more details, I noticed, that I payed twice and now I have membership till November of 2021. Its very dissapointing.

2) I contacted Daz support, but never got answered. I know it was weekend, but even in working days first answer comes in 3 days. When you sprend quite a lot of money, you expect some sort of help, when you need it.

3) Daz refund rules says gift cards and annual memberships are not refundable. In this case, I was simply screwed.

What you do in situations like this? I asked for refund and decided to swich to Iclone with its Character creation platform and all animation tools I need. I will use asets I got from Daz store, but will have platform and company I can rely on.

P.S. Sorry for my English.

If you paid for Platinum Club with PayPal, you may have a recurring payment set up with PayPal. That is beyond Daz's control. You must cancel that recurring payment in PayPal, or it will happen to you again next year.
  • Also, just to note - if you sent in a ticket on Friday, it's not unrealistic for a repsonse to take a few days.  With everything going on at the moment you'll hopefully get a reply today or tomorrow.. but it depends on how much they have to deal with.

  • Maybe, I live in small country. If I buy tshirt online in local e-store, i can contact seller every day and on weekends to. In facts, weekends are days, when people have more time to brows internet shops. I spend way way more money in Daz store, but never had fast response. Sometime it seems, it is policy to wait for 3 days, maybe problem will disaper. And if you are professional artist (I am not), it can be difference between contract broken or job done. Last thing. If you see this problem with Paypal you have two options. Sell annual membership like gift cards and when time comes, costumer has options what to do next. Or you can charge him full price, take his money without asking, make him pissed and show, that you really don't care. Its simple as that. Just wanted some advice if people had this problema and somehow  it was solved. I canceled payments form DAZ, but right now I want my money back - not as store credits, but to my bank account. I had other plans for this amount of money and I don't feel save in Daz store anymore providing my credit card information or paying with Paypal.

The problem is with Paypal's policy. Daz has no control over it, but they will certainly assist you and make it right for you. I know it is upsetting for your money to be taken like that, but please do not take it personally. But since the issue is with Paypal, you probably will have to sort it out with them and wait for Paypal to give you your money back.

  • As you know, DAZ is closed on the weekend. They will make it right. Any time I've had a problem, and it's been many years since the last time,  they've made it right. PayPal will take longer.

It is most likely that this is an issue with PayPal rather than DAZ3D.  You are not the first person to have had this happen.  Apparently, even if you do not have the "recurring" button checked in your PC+Club settings page, PayPal treats it as a recurring payment and bills for it anyway.  DAZ3D  has no control over this.

As to "not feeling safe  in the DAZ store anymore" , I would suggest to you that its probably one of the  safest stores I know of when it comes to purchasing 3D content.  Most of the others have been compromised at least once over the last 5 years or so. They also have a very good response time with support tickets especially in light of the facts that they are a small company and they do close for the weekend.

One suggestion you can consider if you really do feel anxious about further purchases with DAZ 3D going forward and want to avoid the PayPal recurring payment issue.  Get a reloadable Visa or Mastercard through GreenDot or one of the other companies that offer this service. Some banks actually do this now as well and use it for your future purchases.  Most of those cards can be reloaded online now for free ( depending on your bank's policies) and your funds can be availiable in as little as ten minutes.  By doing this, you control exactly how much is spent and if you know you have a re-curring purchase, just reload the card for that amount prior to the purchase going through.

  • Thank you for information. It's tuesday now (on my side of globe). 4 days past. Nothing happened. They got 70 dollars in profits, but lost loyal customer. Bad business so say least. Hope Reallusion will not fail in such way. If I will get any solution, will post here. For now, sorry for bothering and bye :)

  • First this happened to me last year and they took care of it as soon as they could.

If your platinum club renewed 2 times then you had a recurring option setup at PayPal. This is done by PAYPAL the first time you buy a membership. If you changed your Payment Renewal Option you got charged again by thet method too. Renewals are charged by the year at full price. You can manually purchase a discount renewal, like you mentioned at certain times of the year.

If you "cancel" your subscription it stays "ACTIVE" until the end date. So as an extra precaution mine is set to CANCEL right now, with no renewal date and and an end date of December 2019.

I hope you get to stay. DAZ is a much easier company to work with that reallusion was for me!
