Things I like about this Platinum sale.....
in The Commons
Well, there are some great items newly released now, and they are PC...... really good.
Another plus is putting regular price items on sale for one day at $1.99...... nice touch.
But the make your own bundles are not so cool.... simply because I already own many of the items in each category.
Still, a sale worth checking each day.
What do you folks think?

I like the make your own bundles.
I like the PC for a day.
I especially like the category sales, which makes items just a dollar or two.
The PC for a day items on sale for one day at $1.99 are whats been getting me the most, There have been a few new items I liked, but overall not much to get me excited. The G8 starter bundles on sale yesterday with a debut or still new item was a great deal as they came out to around 80+% off, so I picked up a couple.
Been a few things in the category sales, but way to much older stuff I have seen a million times.
Not to mention I extended my PC membership another year for 50% off, so thanks for that DAZ!
PC for a day has been the best feature of this sale. Ive bought a few new items but not alot. Havent really been interested in the bundles (except the free ones).
I like the PC for a day thing. The only paid bundle to interest me was the first one, but I think there have been a few new PC items that have been cool. I don't do Sci-Fi much and I'm starting to get more than a bit bored with all the horror stuff that does the rounds for obvious reasons at this time of year, but I still look forward to seeing what's new each day. I've probably already bought more during this sale than I did during the PA sale and March Madness (how come March Madness doesn't seem like five minutes ago?!) and I've definitely enjoyed it more.
My problem with the make your own bundles is you have to have the exact number of items. There's one today which only has one item that I haven't got. I considered buying it on it's own for $3.99 but it stayed at full price without 4 other items, and there aren't any that I can add.
PC+ for the day is great. I've bought a few things that I like but didn't want to pay full price for.
You canb add the previously purchased items to your cart if you do it from their product pages, not from the category page
i like the free stuff.
I've actually purchased more from the category and new release
I'm pretty much on the same wavelength as you. The Build your own bundles and Bundles in general have been a near total bust for me as I have almost everything in them already. I think I've picked up one of the free bundles and two build your owns during the entire sale.
There have been some really nice new releases, though I haven't bought as many as I expected because too many are too similar to items I already have. I've already got several hundred "living room" type sets, so it's hard to get lured in by those no matter how cheap they are. Surprisingly, most of the stuff I've been buying has been from PA catalogs when they get uber-discounts... much better than the PA sale on average, actually.
The PC for a Day has been a big hit for me, though it's slowing down now that we're seeing more really old stuff slipping into the lineup (or more older stuff that I didn't already own, at least.) Just can't get excited about character sets for V5 or V4 as they've all been discounted more than this before.
The Vladimir bundle and add-ons was my biggest single batch of purchases and was probably the best event of the sale for me. Hoping to see one more character with a similar deal sneak in before the sale is over, which I expect will be sometime in mid november given how late the sale started.
I managed to buy a Genesis 8 bundle for less than $6 due to massive stacking discounts (95% off). I guess that's the highlight of this sale for me.
I'm digging the PC for a day deals. I bought quite a few things that were on my borderline purchase list...especially the creatures that I don't use very often but are a good thing to have in case I need a monster. :)
I think this may be my favorite PC sale so far. I think I've spent more than ever, which is probably bad, but I'm getting so much stuff. The real determining factor will be whether I actually use any of this stuff. There were sales in the past where I got lots of free/cheap stuff, but most of it is just sitting unused on my hard drive. Hard to believe just 2 weeks ago I was begging Daz to start the sale, and now I kind of wish they'd stop it because I've spent so much.
What I like is that I'm finally overcoming my desire with looking at what I "need".
not much really.
I haven't been super impressed so far. Got the DO character releases and The Count so far. Other than that...
It's not Daz's fault I'm getting uninterested, but instead a cycle I go thru....I do this for a few years, lose motivation, take a couple years off. Been a cycle for me since I started in '96....lol. This past few years has actually been a lot longer for me than I'm used to, so there's that. But I'm losing motivation again, so not sure how long I'll be buying stuff or even playing around with 3D before taking a break again.

I feel ya! Over the past month I have had no commercial projects and no commissions, so I started back on a game i was working on and then discovered a couple of new games and have been playing them the last month. The whole time I have been checking the store and getting a few things here and there, but not using them. Now I have a ton of new products and really no motivation to use them, LOL.
sounds like me..at least I have to learn Daz Studio as well, so that's good. I keep seeing all this cool stuff, and then it hits me that I don;t use 3/4 of what I've already bought. now much of it is sort of obsolete.

Also, with this sale, most of the stuff are things I've passed on at least 10,000 times, so not buying them now, real inexpensive or not. they don;t look as shiny as the newer G3 and G8 products
