Are Wearables being changed between versions of Studio?

Two small DAZ Studio updates ago, I saved a bunch of G3 clothing as wearables for G8. After those two updates, not only do the icons no longer say "wearable" on them, but they don't behave as they did before either. Now when loaded, they act just as if you were trying to conform a G3 clothing item to a G8 figure. Does anyone know what might be happening? Are wearables really dependent on the Studio version?

Something else I've noticed that's apparently changed is when adding figure parameter dials to Favorites. They seem to often get placed into a specific body part's parameters and not into the 'full' figure's list of dials. This might have changed a while ago, but it kind of reduces the usefulness of Favoriting dials because you have to navigate to the body part anyway in order to find it.

Anyway, if anyone can confirm either of these, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

  • I've noticed no issues with my saved wearable presets changing. I never really pay any attention to their icon names so can't answer that.

Is there a difference between Wearables and Conforming Clothing? Pardon my ignorance. :)

A Wearables preset will load any item that is aprented to the figure when it is saved - fitted items have to be parented too, but will then fit on loading.

Thanks, I don't really know what happened then. I saved a ton of new wearables and I'll make a point to check if anything happens to them the next time I update Studio.

Yeah, wearables are very handy for loading and applying multiple clothing items or props to a figure all at once. Just make sure you select the main figure before you save and check the boxes of everything you want included in the wearable preset.
