Files Needed for Loading Saved Scenes Disappearing.

I was working on two versions of the same scene last night in Daz Studios 4.10 and had been using Skin Builder 8 and a Brow Remover tool. After finishing up and saving my work, I shut the system down normally. Today, I tried to load the scenes, and a box popped up telling me that I was missing files from C:/users/Name/appdata/roaming/daz 3d/studio4/temp directory. Neither myself, windows, nor my antivirus program has deleted any files from there. Nor have I changed any settings under Preferences(Edit-->Preferences or F2). All file saving, etc., options have always been left at their default.

Can someone explain to me why I would be having necessary files deleted/expunged for my saved scenes? I had no issues with missing files when I loaded an older scene, and the two scenes I had been working on last night had been previously saved and reopened without issues prior to this. The one possible common denominator seems to be use of the Brow Remover script. I've attached 3 screenshots.

The one showing a list of 3 files missing for "Scene2" is the newer version of the scene. I'm not sure what kind of files they are, but I did not see anything visually wrong with the character and I've also included a screenshot of the face. However, the older version "Scene1" appears to be missing more files and part of the face texture since it is white. If I recall correctly, I didn't start using Skin Builder 8 on the character on the "Scene1" version. I only used the Brow Remover script and then saved it as a "Scene1" so I could go back to it if I mess up later on. Then I applied the brows & some of the makeup(blush, eyeliner/shadow only) using Skin Builder 8, and planned on experimenting later with the various lip color/gloss. Afterwards, I saved it as a "Scene2", exited Daz Studio, and shut the system down. Today when I tried to load the scenes is when the problem cropped up. Does anyone have any ideas? Does Daz Studio automatically delete files from the previously mentioned directory after it is closed?

Brow remover no longer seems to work correctly, as you have found files are deleted after closing DS down even if the scene is saved.

Did you save the brow-removed textures as a material preset from the Brow Remover window? (It's explained in the ReadMe) This is supposed to save the brow-less textures to a permanent location of your choice.

I wouldn't go so far as to say Brow Remover doesn't work. It works, but I'm not understanding why this modification isn't persistent on the character within a saved scene and is instead referencing files in the aforementioned temp directory that are being removed.

Not that I'm aware of. What I did was removed the brows from the character using the Brow Remover script, and then saved it as Scene1. I then later loaded Scene1 and applied different brows using Skin Builder 8 and saved it as Scene2. I had assumed that when you save it as a scene, all of the textures and such are saved within that file and do not require base templates/textures to be saved in a separate directory unless you plan on using them on different characters and don't want to go through the hassle of redoing the same modification. When I think about it, this doesn't make much sense, especially if I ever need to move scene files over to a different system(which eventually I will). I'll have to worry about making sure I move any and all modified textures that go with those scenes. Like I said, I wasn't aware of this caveat and simply assumed that when you save it as a scene, "everything" is saved within that file(textures, poses, object positions/dimensions/morphs, lighting, etc.).

No, saving the scene only saves a reference to (most of) the assets in it. If some of them are in the Temp files location then the reference will be to that location, even though they will disappear when you close and reopen DS.

Scenes save references to assets which can be used in different scenes, like for example textures or figures. If they saved everything in the scene file it would make a copy of everything for each new scene, which would lead to huge scene files and a lot of space wasted.

Moreover with this system if there's an update to one of the referenced files (to fix a problem, to add new morphs, ...) then all the scenes which used it should get the update automatically.
