  • The figure has a properly behaving toe_2 bone. By deleting it you will have (slightly) broken poses, so restore it. If you just want to add the ability to hide mesh by hiding the bone, use the Geometry Editor to select the polygons you wish to hide, right-click>Geometry Assignment>Create Face group from selected (from memory) - you can also select in stages, and use the right-click>Geometry Assignment>Assign Selected to>Your group for the seconf and subsequent stages. Once you have the group, switch to the Joint Editor tool, select the Toe_2 bone, and in the Tool Settings pane click the Selection group button and pick your newly created group (actually, you will have to do this separately for left and right).

The G8F figure has a toe issue in Carrara, I believe a workaround is what Misty is after, would be great to have a fix.

need to make those toe_2s hide-able with a toggle invisible preset!!!!!!!

i dont understand how they made fake bones to begin with, how yoo do that on purpose?

i dont see how to assign polys to a bone.

i remeber being able to do it in poser with cr2 figure
it would give a message when there were unassigned polys, when exiting the setup room

same way they made typos in the hidden nodes on breaking it for use in Carrara, if it works in DAZ studio they don't give any  fricks about anything else cheeky

Asign the selection group as I told you above

They aren't fake, they just don't have selection groups. A functional bone has weight to influence the mesh, which has nothing to do with having a selection group assigned.

My post above tells you how to assign a Selection group, if you want to change the bone influences (which you almost certainly don't) then that's weight editing.

A legacy/parametric rig is not at all the same as a single skin weight-mapped rig, you can't safely generalise from one to the other.

thanks,  seeing a true/false for visibility in the file, setting it in text file doesnt work.  a toggle-able bone would be much better tho, cant imagine why they wouldnt make it that way to begin with

I appreciate your efforts on this Mistara. Makes me think about some G8 purchases :)
