Amount of Ctrl+Z pressing

Hi, everyone!

As I understand, Daz Studio limits the amount of “steps back” (when you press Ctrl+Z). Is there any setting to increase this amount?

    no setting available.

But I've found it to be usually pretty generous.

It depends on the amount of memory your computer has.

  • Really?

My head would find your butt if I spend lots of money on memory because you made a joke..

    Lol

Always less than I need. crying

I would love to have an option to increase it. Some softwares uses the harddisk to save the Undos, so no memory is wasted, it would be nice if DAZ Studio used that system.

I guess you have about 10 maybe 15 undo steps thats it. If you undo more that one or two steps back in the Joint Editor everything gets messed up and you have to Restore Rigging. Also had issues with the undoes in the Node Weight Map Brush sometimes.

The best advice I can give is save often. But even that dosn't save you from screw things up that can not be undone. I use Super Save especialy Save Incrementally Basic before doing anything critical to get a backup scene file if something goes wrong. Even had scene files lately once loaded again that crashed DazStudio if I scrubbed the timeline.

As I saw how ZBrush handles the undo history it blow my mind, there you can undo almost every step, if not you get warned. In ZBrush you can revert the undo history for example back to the sphere you started with and it can create a timelaps video of every brush stroke you sculpted. The history can even be saved with the project file. The good thing about this is you don't have to be worried to do something wrong and you start to experiment more. If it dosn't lead to what you wanted then OK go 20, 30 or more steps back and try something else.
