Oxygen textures ... What are they?

I've seen a few products called 'Oxygen' textures. What are they and how do they differ from other 4RV textures?

    Are those textures for the Aery Soul Oxygen oufit for Genesis 1? That set has been long retired (along with the vendor name.)

    That Oxygen texture was a skin for V4 that seems to be no longer available, those products extend it.

    If you're talking about some other product, maybe you could link to it?

    Pretty strange - they remove the base texture from the store but keep the addons?

    The Oxygen textures (and some facial morphs) for V4 were part of a product series at RDNA.  Not all of the products moved from RDNA to Daz with the sale.  The only other related product left is:

    It is strange though, I use to grab a copy of the product page right after purchasing product, but I don't have any for this one. I purchased the Infuse bundle the day after, and I do have the product page for that. If the page for the base had been there when I grabbed the page for the bundle if would have been included too, so maybe they removed the Base right after I purchased it and before I ran the page grabber.

    The base texture is pretty nice btw, here an Iray render using V3D's Iray converter.

    I don't think those are the base textures, it looks like an addd-on, but I don't have the Infuse pack to check.  Odd, I purchased the Oxygen base textures from RDNA some years back, and they are not in my product library at Daz.  I will look at my RDNA downloads when I get a chance.

    Ah, glad to hear it has textures and is usable as is. 

    I looked back at my RDNA stuff.   The original was from 2012, and I have a set called "Oxygen" and an add-on called "Shades of Oxygen", with shaders for both Poser and DS.  These utilize Snarliegribblies' EZSkin utility.

    The one that was for sale at Daz up to about 2016 looks like it incorporated these products, maybe with updates.

    Ah, glad to hear it has textures and is usable as is.

    Yes, I was also thinking it might be some kind of update. Still wonder why it has been removed from the store though. Could be an error since the addon bundle is still available, and they had a lot of products to deal with at that time.

    Yes. Like that one. So they work as-is with v4 or do they need something else to make them work? I bought it during the RDNA switch to Daz, but forgot I had until the 'costume' sale the other day, and am now wondering if I bought something I can't use and is to late to return.

    Depends on what you bought. If it includes the Oxygen base you should be OK. Otherwise you could ask DAZ why they have removed it from the store but kept the addon bundle, that doesn't make sense.

    I have the Oxygen-Mask set, I believe I purchased it from RDNA way back then. It is an add on set for the base Oxygen product.  The one Taoz linked above is the base set - the "Oxygen for Poser and DS", as the Mask ones call upon some files in that. the Oxygen Mask set only contains face textures - no body. You could of course, apply the face textures directly through the surface tab, but without the Oxygen body textures, you'd have to find some other skin that was close enough to it. If the base Oxygen texture set isn't available through the store anymore, then it's annoying the add on set is still being sold without a very large disclaimer stating the fact. 

    The "Oxygen Infuse" set: https://www.daz3d.com/oxygen-infuse-for-poser-and-ds are face/makeup textures also. No body skins. They also require the base Oxygen set.

    Sooo ... this isn't going to work without the base skin ... Am I understanding that right?

    as an ENTIRE skin texture, no it won't. You're only getting the FACE textures in that product.

    For example, I just installed the Oxygen - Masks product (no other Oxygen products installed). When applying the "Bird of Paradise" file, I got call outs for missing files for the torso, limbs, eyes etc...every bit of the body. As you see in the screenshot, the face itself applied fine...but no body or eye textures. The callouts for the missing files were for the Oxygen base product. 

    (note: clothing not from product, was dressed for sake of forum rules)

    I have the base set and DAZ3D numbered it 30301 if that helps them track it down.

    Well that turned out to be wrong, I do have a copy of the product page, the app was just in online mode so it showed the page in the store (i.e. 404 not found). So apparently the product wasn't removed at that time.

    Well, they have it because they sold it at one time. I bought it at DAZ in Dec 2016. But whether or not they can now still sell it is another matter.

    ARTISTS:  RuntimeDNA  Syyd  VinceBagna

    Question is if DAZ owns it when it's a RuntimeDNA product (like they own DAZ Originals). VinceBagna isn't at DAZ anymore so maybe that's why it's been pulled. The other and available Oxygen products are RuntimeDNA  Syyd only, but she's still a DAZ vendor.

    Any RDNA Originals will now be DAZ Originals, but vendor items will now be PA items (if they came across).

    Yes, I can see that the product pages for the available Oxygen products have been updated to include Daz Originals as artist. I was copy/pasting from old copies of the pages.
