Can Genesis 8 DForce clothes be used on Genesis 3 figures?

Since they're fitting to the figure through physics, can dForce clothes for Genesis 8 be used on Gen3 figures? It seems like nearly all the dForce clothing is for the newest figures, but with so much invested in Gen3, and since I have dForce in Studio, it would be nice to be able to use it with the figures I already have and not have to get yet another new stock of figures I personally don't want or need.

I have used G8 dforce clothing on G3 with success.

I've got quite a few dForce clothes and there have been only very few that made problems. Usually they made these problems even when not dForced, as the autofit didn't seem to work properly. Usually lead to some messed up textures. Sometimes it then worked to not autofit, but just dForce the clothes to get rid of the problems.

    So.. usually it works great.

  • As the others have said, yes. Most stuff I have been able to save as a G3 wardrobe. Those rare items when I can't (as maikdecker said, messed up textures), I just use the timeline and start the draping with the G3 figures in the G8 default pose. I even use some G8 dForce stuff on those rare Genesis 1 and Genesis 2 figures I still use from time to time. For example I was able to convert the Vinnuth Kriegor kilt to a dForce item and use on RawArt's Gargoyle. While I expected the fur to fall apart (and for the most part it did), everything else on that kilt looked good. Love dForce!

Keep in mind that you can easily add dforce properties to any clothing or object and in my experience it works well more than it doesn't. Think of it as dynamics for conforming outfits.

You can even use Linday's excellent Classic Long Hair with dforce on G3... and G2, and I bet itll even work on G1 probably. https://www.daz3d.com/classic-long-hair-with-dforce-for-genesis-8-females

Totally agree with your statement. For me, I'd say 80-90 percent of the conforming items I've tried 'dForcing' have worked great. I used it on horse reins and it worked to my satisfaction. I was expecting it to just fall apart.

Great to hear! I guess I need to start learning how dforce works and how to apply it to clothes that aren't already dForced; I assume there are probably tutorials out there.

These are a good place to start:
