Thanks for the render, @ALLIEKATBLUE. Can you tell me what, exactly, you like about her skin? I don't have her yet. I think Zelara and then Victoria have the easiest skins to make look good because of the translucence and smooth gloss. How does Gia compare to them?

@xyer0, for me it's the detail and the softness of the skin that makes it easy to light and make pretty. I also like her face.  I agree Victoria 8 and Zelara and Charlotte 8 all have probably the loveliest skin because of the translucence

Wow, the resamblance is startling. Still gonna pass on Gia 8 and wait for Gianni 8 (crosses fingers).

The tricep does look a little unnatural, and looks to be twisted around towards the bicep area a bit, but overall I think she's a fabulous new Gen 8 addition!

This is really nice, I like her- and the athletic side of this character, so I ended up picking her up and some additional muscle morphs - sprang for my much wanted Floyd cheeky

Now I desparately need to save my money for a new video card-- and already running out of space on my backup drive sad.. and well.. yeah, money for the holidays coming up.  I hope we get some freebies for Halloween and the holidays.

yeah, too bad there isn't some sort of magic dial out there to change a figures hieght. :)

We've been involved with pro beach volleyball for awhile and know several of the players.  You can't get to their body types with simple dial spinnnig or any of the morph packages I've seen.

Just bought the base and the hd morphs. She's a great action character out-of-the-box, but I feel the clothes sets have all been done before.

They have, though that tends to be true of any female bundle this late in a generation's production run.  I usually kit bash everything anyway, so I don't mind having multiple outfits in the same genre as long as they aren't all carbon copies of each other.   At least this was a huge improvement over the dreck that was in the Latonya bundle, and I'd rather have something redundant that than a bunch of skimpwear or "concept costumes" that are so hdeously weird that there's no way I'll ever use it.

I own both previous Gia bundles, and I think I've rendered Gia only a few times. While there is nothing specifically wrong wtih Gia 8, she doesn't overwhelm me with awesome vibes either. In my opinion the character shape-muscular warrior could use a redo in concept, as she's not really nearly as cool as she could be.

Yeah, I much preferered Rune 7 over Gia 7 in the G3F line, as Rune had a skin texxture to match her musculature.  Gia 8 is an improvement over Gia 7, but  they're trying so hard to keep her "pretty" that she comes across as more of a yoga instructor than a superhero or barbarian warrior.

That tricep muscle is simply BAD. It looks painful. A pose preset wouldn't cause it to twist as there's no selecting of muscles, just entire arm sections, and Carola didn't mention doing any morphs. It needs to be fixed.

@novica that picture I posted about the back of her arm and the muscle, is actually one of her promo pictures :/ Don't know if they did anything to make that happen, but I admit that did make me hesitant wether to buy Gia or not when I get my money. I do like her for the most part but that muscle there.. is just looking wrong.

I've noticed the twisty arm on other Genesis 8 Females in some poses. I thought it was just a flaw of the figure. That is, it is not just a Gia thing.

You nailed it, Cybersox. But I do like her silhouette (waist width in-between hourglass and no waist; small breasts) as well as no 6-pack on the HD Add-On.

Thanks for the feedback, @ALLIEKATBLUE. Looking forward to your next renders. Do you have Valera? I'm most excited to see if she looks as good as her promos because I've been looking for a clearly Latina model since Ophelia 7 (who also has great skin, though a little mature around the eyes).

I think that's because they were made by the same artist. Gia's counterpart is Gianni.

I remember the upper arms in particular being odd and others noticed it too right from the get go with Victoria 8.

Did anyone else find the Bundle deal underwhelming? I was really hoping they would give us an assortment of free bundles to choose from................... The pose sets are not worth much to me & I had been buying the Pro 8 Bundles just because I wanted the older bundles.

I've been disappointed that the pro bundles seemed to have been offered earlier and not recently. I don't buy a lot of female figures, but the latest male releases haven't had those offers. Not everyone is tired of the pro bundle deal, and I can make my own poses... So free poses aren't really a draw.

Definitely disappointing, but the new normal seems to be better bundle deals and incentives on the male and more esoteric female characters, while the "sure thing" releases of pretty girls aren't getting quite the same push... probably because they don't need it to reach the sales goals that DAZ has for them.  As far as the Pro Bundles go, I think a lot of us were getting pretty frustrated with that given how many had already bought most or all of them, or at least most of their contents.  I thought the adding of all the other bundles into the mix was a good compromise, but with DAZ dumping two Pro Bundled characters a month on the market now, it's easy to see how that could start to clear our a huge section of the DAZ originals category as well.

Daz has been getting stingier with the new pro bundle freebies/deals lately. Don't know what the latest sales strategy is, but to me it's less enticing and going backwards.

    + 1

  • Gia's here!  And this is why I was holding on to my store credit...

I'm kind of liking the muscular detail on the body.  Straight out of the box, she's got a strong, athletic body.  Most of the muscle morphs I've seen turn characters into giant walls of muscle.  Who needs The Brute when you've got Muscularity and a Scale slider?  The lighter frame here, though, presents a different body shape then I usually see.  Once again, I'm not terribly fond of the face right out of the box, but several of the character morphs could do something to fix that.  I also don't feel like the outfits that came with the Pro Bundle really went all the way with the whole Greek or ancient warrior theme.  Probably because there were no weapons with any of them, even with the poses.  Still, not a bad purchase.  The low price with the purple banner booster made a nice change.  True, there were no freebie old Pro Bundles with it, but I've already got almost all of them anyway.  I'm really getting down to base characters I really don't want, so a different kind of sales bonus was a nice change for me.

What I'd like is about $200 worth of female hair & then $200 of male hair, that actually wouldn't go that far as hair bizarrely is often priced more than the characters, which is why I have less of it than most DAZ collectors.

If the DAZ Dragon 3 Pro Bundle is not going to be a pro bundle freebie again the practically speaking I don't want or need the remaining pro bundles anyway although the Nerds one and the Wedding one are both cute they weren't really character pro bundles. Although of course if I buy another pro bundles then I'll take what freebies they offer but I won't buy a pro bundle just because of a freebie on offer, even the DAZ Dragon 3 Pro Bundle.

When I started in earnest with Daz 3.5 years ago, I had a policy of buying any hair on sale that did not look like a bad weave. I'd noticed that the big 3 hair PA's rarely went on sale except when Pro Bundles were released, and that was not the best time to splurge on non-character purchases. The policy paid off, and now I have every hair I desire (until someone is able to make a hair look better than the promos, though this happens less frequently because there are not as many styling morphs as in the past).

    Here is Luci and Myrina

Thanks for the renders, ALLIEKATBLUE! Luci's catsuit makes me think of, "and where would one wear such an outfit?" ;) Myrina has a strong, distinctive face morph; she looks like a black Olympia 8. What's that hair?

Thanks @ALLIEKATBLUE, I never got to that last promo that has the morph you used. I have struggled with Biscuits hairs; so, I didn't think I could make it work, but that's a good choice for Myrina. Kudos to you.
