Shaders missing in presets and render presets won't load

Under Sufaces/Presets, I no longer have that long list of 3dl and Iray shaders with drop downs and the tons of choices like I always did before. Now all it shows is greyed out name of whatever is loaded in the scene and nothing but a couple things in the list that don't pertain to anything, I'm attaching an image to show, but really need to find out how to get them back. I don't have a clue what happened.
Same thing for all my render presets. There seems to be 2 different areas for render presets when I look at my content library in widows explorer. No matter which one I put them in, they don't show up in DS anymore. They're just blank placeholders saying the file has been removed. Image attached. Don't know which one to put my list in.
I've been using the General Release of DS 4.10.0.123. These missing things have always been there and now all of a sudden they're gone.
Help? Thanks.

Never mind. I missunderstood your question.
Your DS screenshot shows the Surfaces pane, but the folders are in the Render presets folder.
I uploaded 2 screehshots, but don't see them here. Yes, I showed the surfaces because when i had anything loaded, be it figure, prop, whatever...I could select a bodypart, etc, and instead of the Surfaces/Editor, I'd select Surfaces/Shaders. There was a drop down with tons of shaders for products I have installed , and also the base Iray Uber and all the example uber shaders (car, etc), plus fabrics, stone, ground, gems, on and on. Tons of other shaders that I could scroll to look through them. There was also a list of 3dl shaders to that was populated with thumbs of things similare to the iray drop down. Now they're all gone. Only these few random placeholder things are there now, and the entire list of my iray shaders is missing that has always been there. If I right click on these placeholders, they take me to this 'Products' folder in the Content Library tab. What's a Products folder? If I Rt click on one of the placeholder things in the Surfaces/Shaders, it takes me to that 'Products' folder again. There's tons of my products in there and they all have empty placeholders in stead of thumbs. It also won't take me to the mapped folder.
The other part of this is that under Render Settings/Presets/Saved Files, I'm missing my entire list of saved presets. In Explorer when I look in the Content/Presets/Iray, I have 22 presets of my own that I've saved, but now there are also 3 folders other folders in there: Dumor, MidnightStores, and Sixus. Also there is a 'Sundial Set.duf' and 'Iray Advanced Render Setteings' which I've never seen before either. I've never had those in my saved presets before, and I don't know where they came from. And the folder right above that is 'Render Settings', and it's competely empty. That's never been empty before either.
Something I did very recently after my hard drive was reformatted, was to use DIM to help me install tons of products. I've NEVER used DIM before. I've ALWAYS installed my products manually. Did DIM screw this up for me? Am I going to have to delete all my content and reinstall thousands of products over again by hand? Seems to me this is why I never used DIM, because I wanted control over my products and where they went. Now I also find out they were installed in some random location on one of my external drives, but not in the folder I told it to. I'm having to move all those DIM installed files over to my main content library where they belong.
I'm stuck. i don't want to use any of that smart content stuff, or download and install from within DS. I never have done that, and don't want things to be that way now. Sorry this is so long-winded, but all that I've described is whats' happened and I don't know how to fix it so I can get all my shaders back into Surfaces/Editor, and my render presets/saved files back where they belong.
Thanks
You have control when using DIM you just need to tell it where you want it to install things and then you need to make sure that DS knows that path.
As for the missing stuff is DS pointed to the runtime/library they are in.
