I wanted to point out a few things with this set.

First off, this time he comes with feet, instead of hooves. This is because I got alot of feedback that people would like to use minotaurs in more contemporary shots, and being able to wear shoes is important. So this time we have a more contemporary minotaur.

I also included both a bovine and a more humanoid face morph to add variety to the looks.

You will also find a morph that moves the horns slightly.....Even DAZ's qa asked me about that. It is just me being uber-picky. When you dial in the different head morphs, the horns will move slightly due to how they are parented to the head. Likely no one will even notice. But I did, so I made a couple morphs to nudge them one way or another. So thats what that is all about...me being picky.

Oh...and also dig the crazy maze tattoo I gave him. That was a challenge to put together, but even a minotaur may need a map to get out of the maze, why not as a tattoo ;)

I love minotaurs, and this one's going straight into my list. yes But I hope he realizes that because he may have look into the mirror to see the maze that it would appear backwards. surprise  It wouldn't do to have the taur lost in his own maze. devil

Curious. You give the user a choice between humanoid and bovine head why not the same with feet and hooves?

Regardless he still looks amazing though.

Because at that point it would have been an entirely different character (based on looks and the amount of work involved). There are some beautiful hooved minotaurs in the previous generations if someone wants that look, so it was time for something new and different.

Are the indentations in the skull where the horns fit part of a single head morph, or can they be dialed in separately? I ask because I like to make unique monsters by combining morphs from different packages at different strengths, and I might one day want a monster with his basic head-shape, but no horns. If applying the shape means that he'll always have great divots in his skull, that's less useful.

I will, of course, probably end up buying him anyway, because, hey, giant monster. Plus, he looks pretty amazing. Maybe he can wear a helmet, or miniature substitute horns, or something.

Amazing work, RawArt. Personally I like the human feet. It's something that sets this figure apart from the others.

He looks amazing! BTW, does "full body material" include gens material?

No separate morph for the horns on the head...and yes to the genital textures

    fair enough.

  • He looks great. I've been hoping for a G8 version of a minotaur and this one is excellent. smiley Thank you, RawArt!

While realistically yes it should be an extension of the tail bone and spine, do you realize how hard it'd be to actually make clothing fit that and NOT look weird on a humanoid bipedal?  To be completely honest, more people would be complaining of pokethrough on the tail if it did than people would actually CARE that it was anatomically correct.

EDIT:  Also, probably because the author WANTED to put it there.

clothing ignores geografts and why would you add a tail if dressed?

There are many reasons why things are made the way they are and some decisions have to be made to make them practical and less natural.....so it just is what it is.

i dont understand, is it a limitation of the g8m figure?

all figures have limitations...specially when you try to add parts onto them in ways that the base figure was not designed for

HFS has a Hooved morph for G8 males that could probably be applied to give that authentic Minotaur feel while allowing you to enjoy this great figure! I actually am a huge Kamandi fan and have been looking over some of the Elephantmen comics and love the scale of your characters!

  • Wow he is stunning!  Have to wait for payday but wow, will be snatching this one up as soon as I can.  Love the tattoo, love the skin, really, he is gorgeous!

  • Love the new character, and I thought the tattoos were a nice touch smiley. I appreciate the options for the face shape as well. Haven't had time to get a render done yet, but hopefully soon as I finish another project.

He does look great! I love that he has a kind face.

The tail is a little awkward, though; and count me amongst those that would have liked hooves.

If somebody happens to have both TOR and "HFS Ultimate Shapes for Genesis 8 Male", a quick render of a hooved TOR would be much appreciated!

Thanx for those who are digging the character.

I really liked TOR from the little I played around with him; except for one, -literally- small detail. That 'Grade A' tattoo/seal on the left side of his pelvis. I can see its use in, say, a sci-fi environment, but if I wanted to make, say an Ancient Times story, it is a "little" out of place, if one can't find a way to cover it (it could potentially have been a good idea to have it as an extra tattoo option like the maze one -which I really love as a concept and execution-). Other than that I don't mind the tail being higher on the spine, or the lack of hooved feet (in the Greek myth the Minotaur had just the body of a man and the head of a bull, there's nothing about hooved legs in it; I think that was a latter addition), and I really like the overall look of the character.

That tattoo was a selling point for me, so fun XD

But you can cut a piece of the torso map with soft edge and place it over the tattoo in LIE, then save a preset.

    Thanx Guys :)

..and yeah, the tattoo on the butt is small enough to easily clone out in any paint program if you dont like it.

I just think it should be noted that the tail does not come out of the middle of the back.

In the promo pic, the tail sticks out at a bit of a sharp angle, to help work with the clothing, but the movement morphs on the tail are designed to help it lay in a more natural way. (also the underwear pulled down like it is in that promo shot makes it look like the butt is lower than it actually is.)

The tail is actually directly above the buttocks.

I am not saying it is completely natural in how it is attached, but please do not think that I have not given thought into making it as natural as I can given the limitations of the figure. Limitations which I attempted to work around with the included movement morphs for the tail, which can also be tweaked to your own likes in order to get a very natural look

  • He looks great

  • Oh my... I missed the Grade A tattoo in the promo. That is wonderful I love it blush.

And thanks for the example with the tail. I also like it a bit lower, but it had already been brought up so I didn't mention it earlier. I was using the pose dial for up and down but after seeing your picture I tweaked it a bit further and got something like what you're showing, which is more natural.

Now I want to update the Tauren III with Iray shaders and have them size each other up laugh
