Can't see the benefit in being a Platinum Club member anymore

In the past I have appreciated the saving for purchasing product for being a Platinum Club member.  Currently things that use to cost 1.99 are 10.00 or 12.00 or more, under the Platinum Club membership program.  So what is the purpose of paying to be a Platinum Club member, if there are no ture savings? It's a waste of money to pay to be a Plantinum Club member, because there are no real benefit anymore. But I still love the DAZ product!

  • I'd say the 4-5 monthly freebies are worth the price.

PC+ products do not go up that high    the highest priced PC items are at $8.99  and there are only 10 at that price in the store and 8 at $7.99, 7 at $6.99.  In fact there are only 14 at $5.99.  The rest are all $4.99 or less,  with the majority coming under that figure at $3.99, $2.99 and $1.99.

The only time you will see the higher prices is if you are browsing the store while not signed in if you have a current PC membership or if you do not actually have a current PC membership.

There are no PC+ products that are priced at 10 or 12. The highest is 8.99, and there are only a few of those, all being dForce clothing items. There are a few large environments at 7.99, but the bulk of the new products are 4.99, which is only $3.50 on release date due to 30% off in the first 2 weeks. Like with all products in the store, you should either buy on release, or wait until they are on sale. Back in the days when PC products were 1.99 only, they very rarely went on sale, where 50% or so sales of PC+ items are much more frequent than they used to be, bringing those 4.99 items back down to 2.5, which is not that far off the old PC price.

Naturally you also have to consider the other PC+ advantages, like the weekly/monthly freebies, 30% off DOs, and $12 a month in coupons.

  • The freebies, the monthly coupons, the extra percent off on DAZ Originals, Greatly Reduced Prices on PC items which are even more reduced during sales promotions.  If you're buying stuff here in any quantity it pays to be Platinum.  If you don't it doesn't pay.  Pretty much the same as any other membership.  Amazon Prime isn't worth anything if you don't use it for example.  Or COSTCO membership.  Or anything else with a yearly renewal.

  • Might be worth clearing cookies, or try logging in with another browser.. that would probably explain the pricing issues, and the resulting benefits of being a PC member.  Another perk missed out so far as well, is the 30% off all Daz Originals too :)

I can say unequivocally that: If you use Daz Studio and you use new or inexpensive products, it is absolutely worth it to be a PC+ member. And the PC+ sale is coming up soon, so you can get a membership for 30-maybe50% off at some point.

But you have the outfit (for example) at 4.99 - 8.99 then the extra textures for 2.99 -4.99 add that up and its often cheaper to buy a PA item when on sale, PA outfits often come with several textures more than you get in the PC expansions.

I'm not buying PC items much at all anymore, the only benefits I see in the PC are the coupons but they are now a nuisance since the problem with free items in the cart and CS's reluctance to refund and sort out orders where that problem has occured. The 30% off DO's is I think the thing that keeps me in the PC these days, but during the period I was not a member I spent a lot less; so when my meembership is up for renewal I need to really consider whether its worth it for me or not.

Sometimes it's not easy to see the benefit.

BTW jeanisse  If you are actually still a member of the PC then you need to file a support ticket, because you are not showing as being a member on your forum profile.

The annual membership was just $35 (50% off) a few days ago. $144 (2 x $6 x12) coupons, monthly freebies and sales discounts make it worth it.

  • I do find I spend less not in it

Honestly the weekly freebies are things I would never purchase. The interest is very low.

What is the point to get baby toys ?

That one render when you Need those baby toys, of course. smiley

Besides, outside of the freebies, the 30% off of DAZ Originals is the biggest benefit. Perhaps even more than the PC stuff, though thats helps creating a good base of content.

During my time I got so many scifi free stuff with the PC freebies it was a real blessing. So yes these are some things I don't have a use for now, but then you make a render an think there was this item I got two month ago, it would make the scene more complete.

I can understand, though, when the PC makes you spend more than you intend to, it's probably clever to stop for a while and then hop on later. but really, you don't want to stop before the PC anniverary sale :D

If you don't feel it's worth it, then it isn't down to us to convince you otherwise.

There is lots of value (for me, your experiece is different) in having it, due to the various offers; I don't believe it saves me cash though, as I buy more. :)

  • I can certainly see it's benefits if you want to buy lots of stuff

why I am now resisting rejoining for now cheeky

    I am too weak

will eventually cave possibly the PC+ sale

How did I miss this? My membership is due for renewal soon, but all I kept seeing was discount off gift cards. sad

Will wait until 50% deal reappears.

There is no render in the Galleries cheeky , it seems nobody used it.

The benefit is visible while massive collecting of Daz Originals content or when a new core figure is released.

For example, The Brute 8 Pro bundle, PC+ member gets 30% off extra ( Pro bundle is 58% off instead 40% off or purchased with a new release 65% off instead of 50% off)

The choice is very simple between $80.97 and $56.68 (12 months, 24 Pro Bundles = $582.96 saved)

I could probably use that toy for a Tower of Hanoi render. PROBABLY.

  • freebies- it depends on your leanings, sometimes a good on comes out for me that maybe you would not appreciate

Same here. I would say only 20% of my renders are visible to the general public... I love all freebies. You never know when you may need something for a project and then be pleasantly surprised you already own it!

overal, the prices have increased on all items..the 30% off doesn;t even get a lot them back to what they were. I have to say most of the PC items I never use ... i have to really work at the catalog to get my $6 DO coupon used. The free stuff ..eh. I do think I'm pretty much done with purchasing much more here. I have gone through a few splurges lately, and purchased some characters as well..pro bundles, but the sales are extremely agravating..nothing ticks me off more then to find a good deal then you go to check out when the cash is in hand, often even the next day, and you find everything 10 times higher.

The deal with the coupons not working on the carts with $0 items in it is very bad. and tfor whatever reason they are not fixing it. I delete carts of stuff for that very reason. But I see DAZ deal here..they dont work on a cart with $0 items..so you end up not using it on that purchase, then you wait to use it on something that actually works..so you get to spend additional cash. The only thing, any discount is better than no discount, so even if only $4 comes off, its better than no dollars coming off..but then the remainder should be saved for future use, not lost.

  • I had to let it go for a bit.  There are PC items I want but my budget really wouldn't allow me to buy any of those for awhile.  I could not really see upgrading to G8F so I am not buying stuff for that.  I'll get it again in the future for the coupons and such and to finally get those PC items.  But for now, I have to play with what I have already.

Make that 99.9% for me. And the items are used. :)

I like the pc club. I do feel frustrated though by the lack of Genesis 8 male clothes. A lot of new content being made and offered is still for g3m. Male poses too.

I could use more food props though. I have enough coridoor and empty rooms and medieval weapons.

Agreed. I feel the lack of love in the men's clothing department and also I wouldI would like food but in various stages of being eaten, if possible. An Apple with a bite taken out of eat, half eaten and then an apple core. Scenes where people are at the dinner table look suspciously like no one is eating. :)
