Stop a started render

Sometimes I missclick and start a render without the intention of doing so. Is there any way to stop the process? When the image begins to take form there is no problem cancelling but before that has begun, how do I stop the process? If it is a complicated scene it can take som time before the image starts to appear and I would like to stop the render immediately.

You don’t have to wait for the image to appear. However it may take some time to close the window. The program may appear to have stalled so you need to be patient.

Well... I can cancel the render immediately but the window doesn't close until the image should have appeared and in the meantime DS is still inaccessible.

You kind just have to get lucky in your timing.  Once the gpu starts loading the scene into memory it won't be able to cancel the process until that is complete and the scene starts rendering.  I imagine if it tried to cancel it while it was loading into memory bad things could happen.

Thanks Falco. That was not what I'd hoped for but it kind of answers my question.
