Mathius Hair Cap Showing in Iray Render? (solved)

Hi Hive Mind, :-)

Working on an image for a book cover and discovered this odd issue: the cap or scalp seems to be showing on his head... I'm using Mathius hair for G3M, and rendering in Iray. I used it's own Iray materials on it. I've used this hair a lot in 3Delight and not had this happen. Any ideas, tips, thoughts?
