Girl 7 For Girl 8 - Cosmetic Options Malfunctioning?

Obtained this product a while ago and only just properly using her for a project:

https://www.daz3d.com/the-girl-7-for-the-girl-8

Seems to replicate Girl 7 fairly well! There's just one issue... The included cosmetic options, such as being able to give her red lipstick and so on, seem not to function right! My guess is that they're still designed to use the UV maps for Girl 7, which... Is strange, considering the purpose of it. Every time I select 'Girl 7 All Maps', she looks normal, but the cosmetic options... Nope!

Does anyone know what could be going on? I can't imagine this passed quality control if there was no way to use the different included options.

What do you mean by them not looking normal?

I don't have the Girl 7 for Girl 8 - but I do have Victoria 7 for Victoria 8 and the makeup options work fine on her.

It could be that there is an issue with G7 for G8 though, could you post a render or screen capture of what it looks like?

    Some examples...

You can select 'Girl 7 All Maps' and it reverts to normal, but selecting any of the make-up options causes the UV map stuff to mess up. The cosmetic options for the eyes, lipstick, cheeks, eyebrows, lips, etcetera, are not going to where they should do.

This is all in the same folder in the Smart Content tab for this product, specifically. It should all be designed to function with Genesis 8 (since it requires Girl 8).

Yeah, it looks like it's using the wrong UV. Look under the Surfaces tab and scroll down to "UV Set" and see what it says there. You might be able to switch the UV there so that the makeup shows up properly. If it loads like that though it's for sure something that needs to be fixed. I'd put in a support ticket.

Until they get it fixed though you might try seeing which UV it's using and see if manually switching the UV fixes the problem (at least until there is an official fix for the product). I'd definitely put in a support ticket though.

Not at the computer to look at things right now, but I don't recall having any option for mareials specific to G7 fro G8. I've used G7 for G8 several times and I've always user G8 skins and makeup. From the images you posted it looks like something has gone very wrong. Did you by any chance convert the the Girl 7 morph to G8 using one of the convesion scripts/routines? That might account for the odd behavior.

I have the Aiko 7 for Aiko 8 and it does something similar. In my case, I just need to manually set the UV (keeps wanting to go to Aiko 7 UV for some reason) to Base Female and problem solved.

Manual alteration of UV mapping fixed it! Still very surprised that this got through quality testing with that flaw, mind you.
