Hi,

Got a new android based tablet. There is this issue with this one app I love to use, it's a stupid game but if I forget to go back to the home screen when I'm done playing it, even when the tablet goes to sleep after 5 minutes of no useage, it continues to drain the battery.  This AM woke up to the tablet being drained again.  Just wondering if there was an app I could download and install that will shut down battery draining apps like this automatically when the tablet goes to sleep?

Thanks for any help!  And NO I'm not getting an iPad so don't go there!  lol

not sure.  I do recommend turning on developer mode so you can kill the app manually when you're done playing it

Found one that seems to be doing what I want it to do.  It's by Cheetah called the Battery Doctor.  I'll have to see how it does in the long term!

I use Greenify. You can have it shut down an app right after you are done using it.

Android has the features to handle this in the OS options. When you go into settings>device maintenance>battery. You can choose to force apps to go to sleep when you don't use them.

Using 3rd party apps to kill apps can actually do bad things in newer Androids. If the game is still causing problems using the Android battery manager, try restarting the device. Sometimes, just like a computer, you just need to reboot to solve a problem.

OK, thanks so much.  I'll have to investigate that.  Thanks for the Greenify suggestion Tim.  I was considering that one too!
