Which UV set does FW Candace (G2F) use?
Apologies if this is in the wrong sub-forum - I wasn't entirely sure which one it belonged in.

Presumably Victoria 6. I am not sure whether her UV is separate from the base G2F UV though. V6 and base G2F launched pretty much concurrently, so it's possible that the Victoria's UV is the same as the base's. But I don't recall for sure.
You could try applying it to the base and see whether it lines up correctly. If it doesn't then you need Victoria as well. If you already have Victoria, the correct UV will probably apply automatically.
G2F and V6 do not use the same UV set. I don't own FW Candace, but she's on sale so I need to know the UV set in order to tell whether her textures are going to be inconvenient to use. I often modify skin textures and the unique UVs for each vanilla human NameHere 6 character needlessly complicates the process without adding any value. So it's less a question of "Can I use it?" than "Will I want to use it?"
That is the one thing I don't miss about G2 figures. Glad DAZ stopped that tactic with the new generations.
Glad to hear they gave it up. I was never sure what the point of that tactic was - it has to have cost them sales.
Some characters list which UV set they use, and that helped since I generally buy characters for the textures not the shapes. Still, here's hoping someone out there has FW Candace and can check for me.
I have FW Candace and loaded her up. She uses the Victoria 5 UVs, which I find surprising since she is a G2F character. I cannot remember if G2F came supporting Victoria 5 UVs by default, but it looks like it must have.
G2 Base Female and Victoria 5 are more or less the same UV. There are some (usually) small differences; if you put on her texture on G2F and shift it to Base Female and there's not a lot of movement anywhere, then it's a close-enough match. (That said, sometimes the face and breasts can move a LOT. Depends on how things were done.)
Thank you @mark128! G2F is definitely compatible with the V5 UVs by default (which I have to say did make the move from G1 to G2 easier). A LOT of FWs G2F characters use the V5 UVs, and there are a variety of G2F characters from other PAs that are built on the V5 UVs.
@vwrangler, while the G2F base textures look identical to the V5 textures when applied, the uvs themselves are quite different. I've mixed up the V5 and G2F base textures when manually applying them so I speak from experience when I say the face texture ends up horrifyingly distorted. XD
There are also visible seams on the limbs, head, and back.
If you need to, you can return; I tend to presume that if they require a certain figure (in this case V6) then that is the UV set; it isn't always the case, but it does apply.
You can actually convert the texures internally; if you right click on the surfaces tab with the figure selected, then select Map Transfer, you can move them over. In the templates section on the left of the pop-up, create as many templates as needed. 7 from the image. :) You then add the appropriate material zones, by moveing them over. Once done set the baking quality (I reccommend max) and select where to save them. Then click on Accept.
(I've attached a copy of the material zones, for easy reference.)
Looks an interesting character, so wishlisted; I'll transfer to G2 default if needed, then move to G3/8 using Blacksmith Pro; Daz also have an option for studio that can utilise textures from other UVs, but I prefer Blacksmith
I suspected that's what Map Transfer was for, but had never been able to figure out how to make it work, but I checked around for another tutorial and found one in the forum.
Thanks for the reference image - it helped with the template step.
You're welcome, and glad you found a tutorial.
