[Failed to download (Install manager)] I seriously don't know what is wrong. Of course it's on Windows 10. (Of course) So, anyone else ran into this problem? I can after awhile when I hit the download several time get it or if i download one item at the time.

No, it's not Windows Defender, I turned it off (Everything it have) while I try this stupid download maraton.

My other computer with windows 7 has 0 problem. So, is it server problem on Daz side or what it is it?

  • Do you mean you are seeing Failed to Download on the button in DIM after attempting to download? I certainly don't have that issue, but I don't use Windows Defender. Are you also using the default Windows firewall?

In the meantime, you can just copy the zips over from the \Daz Install Manager\Downloads folder on the old machine (in Public Documents) to the new.

  • I don't want to copy the zips, I wanted to install it from DIM. It is WAAAY easier. I have over hundreds of stuff to copy. Yes, I am probably using default windows firewall.

  • How long have you had this system? If you had run DIM with administrator privileges (actually Run as Administrator, not just run from an admin account) then the folder might have admin access rights, which would block saving the file. However, the current version of DIM blocks running as admin so one a recent system that shouldn't be the issue. Can you download if you click the gear icon at top-right and in the Downloads tab change the destination folder?

I already changed the destination folder, I wanted it on another Ilbrary. I can try to run it with admin.

It said DIM can not be run with it. This is so annoying, can it be the firewall?

It is the firewall, how do I make it understand that it shall let install managers content through? Because Windows 10 does not seem to accept that I just allow the install manager through :/

  • Don't run with admin - I was saying that it could cause problems, and it's now blocked anyway.

Try manually downloading, then place the downloaded zip in the Downloads folder you are using - does that work?

Of course that works, but I REFUSE to do that. I have over hundreds of materials (After all I work with games) I must have the install manager. It works if I turn off Windows defender and the windows firewall, but no one could say that is a good solution.

  • Well, you could wait to see if anyone has more limited ways to rein the security software in. You might also look at trying one of the third-party security suites.
