I know you're female. God, Gods, a God, has no inherent gender. When authors talk about the Greek Gods, Norse Gods, Egyptian Gods, etc, that's a reference to the whole pantheon. I'm sure you know that in some pantheons, the gender of a given god is a bit . . . . fluid.

Besides all mythologies have stories of Gods passing as mortals. Why not you? When I look at your products, I doubt Hephaestus / Vulcan / Brigid could do better. For those unfamilar w/ Celtic mythology, Brigid was a tripartate goddess of the home, hearth, and forge. Sometimes considered goddess of poetry, healing, and smithcraft.

    Lecture over.

All hail IgnisSerpentus, God of the DAZ Studio forge. After all I take IgnisSerpentus to "translate" as Serpent of Flame. Am I wrong? (all meant in good fun).

  • lol well a god's power is boundless... I assure you mine has its limits. If I were a god, I spose every release I ever did would make me meeeellions (not to be confused with melons... coz no one wants melons. Unless were talking euphemisms of course lol)

lol and yeah, its basically firesnake... but I like Serpent of Flame better (it has a dramatic flair to it)

  • What I would like to know is how you do your promos.  The promos alone make me buy your stuff!

  • Im guessing u mean the artsy ones? They are postworked. In fact, the orig render itself is nothing to write home to mom about... its all in the postwork. I spend hours and hours messing with that in the artsy promos. The plainer promos however are straight out of the box renders (I do both, so people see both the potential as artwork, and how it is straight up)

I did a series of images showing the before and after stages of my promos. I havent done it with Athena (at least not yet) but here are some others:

  • Those are great promos.  Thanks for the insight.  You have tutorials on YouTube, right? :)

  • Thanks for the compliments! And yeah, there are definitely some devoted to postwork and how to paint stuffs, like hair and clothing

I always love your glowing eyes laugh I actually often use your solar flare brushes to do glowing eyes in postwork - cos i have NO Idea how to do it within ds. LOL

Heh yeah, I have an unhealthy obsession with making the eyes glow on things. I think it sort of adds godliness or otherwise power to what would be pretty mundane without it.

In ps, its literally paint a blob on a layer over the eyes.... blur said blob a little, set to screen... and duplicate a few times (and u can mess with the layer modes on the extra layers, to get a more pronounced effect... sometimes I mix with hard light and overlay)

But in a pack.... In DS, I use SSS shader (ambient contribution) and of course iray bloom after setting up emission. The SSS shader is kinna tricky to use, as it has to be set up a certain way with group id's that match each other.

Here's my first render with this wonderful outfit, plan to do a bunch more! It's beautiful, thank you for your work! I don't really do much postwork, PS is even more intimidating to me then DS, lol, but I'm learning. Can't wait to do some more with this great set! Also gald to get the link to your youtube, just subscribed to you and I'm watching your Rouge Element video now, lol.

Oh wow, both of those images rock!

Bunny, I love it... I love the purple and chartreuse (thats a fave color combo for me too lol) Its a good thing shes a goddess tho, stepping in that toxic sludge was prolly a bad idea for anyone else lol The skull floating in it was a nice touch lol I would have to say thats even one of my faves by you.

@brimstoneomega (cool name btw) I love yours too, great POV and enviro and hex's weapons work well with her too. And I am really glad someone decided to use the white lol I wasnt sure how well white was gonna go over (but it so had to be in the set, its sort of default greek) Fun little trick too... the white cloth can become any color (if one were to change the diffuse and velvet on 3DL, on iray changing the backscattering diffuse and such)

Thanks :) I'm not sure what it is but i'm not quite happy with it. I think I may re do it again, change a couple things, then compare them. I do like the greenness though. I thought that came out good. Plus magic owl boots let you walk though anything.

  • Ok wow, yeah... I loved the first one, but I love this version even more. Love the glowiness to the enviro (it kinna feels volumetricky) and the special effects and the color (I think the blue sky contrasts better than the purple one did) Totally awesome

I used the uneven layered brush  for the effects and smoke that i usualy use to paint hair. It seems to be good for other stuff too.
