Daz P.A. Vendor sales email notices....

Just asking..

When someone buys a product from a Daz P.A., does it inform them of WHO bought the item?

Or does it just state a sales transaction reference number and not much else?

We get a date and a timestamp, and what our share of the sale is. That's it.

Nope,it's just 5 sales today, 90 sales yesterday, like that.

Does it matter if someone mentions your sale on the forum, or are you guys numb to that by now?

    Does that have any sway?

No it doesn't matter at all. You can announce sales. it doesn't matter as far as I'm concerned. Just more publicity.

Well, none of us hates positive feedback; people are more likely to post on the forum with a complaint than vice versa; but the number of people on the forum vs. the customer pool means the testimonial probably doesn't have a big impact saleswise. If the forum were that influential every male product I've made would sell a thousand copies on intro, but it wouldn't matter because I'd be murdered for having buttons on the wrong side. :D

I don't think that knowing who bought something would be a valuable metric, honestly, so I'm glad we don't see that.

Having people on the forums mention they bought something and saying, "I really like X, Y and Z on this set, but I don't like A, B, and C on it" on the other hand is still very valuable feedback imo, even if the forum doesn't really line up with what products sell best.

So posting on the forums to communicate with PA's is useless then?  You do get notices when we post that we used your product in the Gallery though right?

You've just had, what, 4? 5? PAs respond to this thread. I wouldn't call that useless at all.

I don't mean to come off snippy or disrespectful, but most of those who responded seemed to imply it doesn't matter.  I communicate with some PA's on DA and I find them more receptive there.  Just my experience.  I will say that I'm a big fan of @Sickleyield and about 5 other PA's.  Not that the others are bad, just those 5 or 6 make most of the stuff I buy.  Sorry if I came off wrong.

We do get gallery notifications, yes. The other store sends an email with the buyer’s username for each purchase. I wonder if knowing that a vendor can tell whether you bought the product  is in some small way a deterrent for piracy. Maybe not, but I’ve certainly had product queries from users there for whom there is no record of a purchase. (Usually about errors that were fixed in an update but not updated on the pirate sites.)

Some of the active PAs will check the forums and answer questions as best they can.  Now placing questions in the product threads are easier to notice than perhaps the commons or nuts and bolts.

I'm thinking maybe the op and I are just wondering how to show a PA that we like their work and actually buy it.  If I buy a lot of products from you, would you be willing to listen to me when I make a product suggestion.  I'm thinking that you have to be concerned with how many people will buy it and not just 1 or 2.  I see your side of things.  You need to make a living.

I will say.  When I post a picture to the Gallery, I make the effort to put in the products I used, because I want the PA's to know I baught and used their products.

Yeah that's what I try to do.  I just with these forums had a better search function.

Well, I was wondering for a couple of reasons.

    a) Once or twice, I've gushed over a product in the 'coming soon' and then NOT wanted to buy it once it came out because it was either missiong a few features or relatively costly. You feel sort guilty when that happens and there's a few that I've grabbed that I really didn't use. - only because I said I would. So now I avoid saying 'insta-buy' unless I really, really, really mean it. lol.

    b) Also wondering if it stands out when you go on a run and buy several items from the same PA at once. Like "Oh wow, that person just snagged a bunch of my catalogue"

    c) Or if you return something - is the vendor like "That stinker!"

    d) For privacy if a vendor sees me buying lingerie and girl wrestling poses and that slime product. - Not that I would ever imagine combining those products into anything nefarious.

I thought it was a flattering thing to say "I bought a bunch of your stuff" but now, with these expanding libraries, there almost isn't a vendor that you haven't grabbed a ton of stuff from....

Not by males, we don't notice details like that.  Particularly Techie males, as long as everything is suitably covered, we're good.    I couldn't tell you which side the buttons were on on the clothes I am currently wearing unless I looked first.

Try buying or getting "real" female paints by accident.  Believe me, you'll notice LOL!  I was issued female uniform paint by accident once and the buttons werre on the "wrong" side.  I was like WTF?  Then someone told me they were female paint and I was like, "Oh I never knew their buttons were on the other side."

Best way to post is to start a thread and say whatever you want. Like someone said, quite a few PA's come to the forums when they release a product to help someone figure out a problem if something is broken that made it though testing. Quite a few PA's start their own threads to advertise so you can make comments in them if you like. We are big on that. We take constructive criticism very well and we implement it in the next product. We learn a lot from people making suggestions.
