Using or Converting .C4D props into something that i can use in Daz3D

i downloaded some cool .c4d models and would like to use them in Daz3D. i have a trial of the Cinema 4d software but when i export the files as either .obj or .fbx files the models are messed up.

Is there a simple souloution for this simple man

only way I can get rigged FBX into DAZ studio is via PoserPro 11 and save as a cr2 then convert to triax or weightpainting in DS and save a duf

anything else is as you said a mess

getting an FBX and an OBJ in are two completely different kettles of fish. FBX being tricky is entirely understandable, OBJ on the other hand should be relatively simple.

Can you elaborate on what is messed up about the model when you import as OBJ?

I think export/import settings are probably going to be the culprit here

For things to export properly from C4D to be used in DS you need to have a plug-in called Riptide Pro. There is a free version and a paid for pro version. We have the pro. Just do a search for riptide and it should be the first thing that comes up in your search. I don't know if it will work though using the trial version of C4D.

    Edit to add link here.
