I've had Carrara for many years, and never learned how to use it. I saw a current low sale price for Carrara 8.5 Pro and proceded to buy it. The first screen looked fine. My grand total was $22.75. I proceded to checkout and the price was over $200!

That happened to me this week too :( They REALLY need to fix that. This is the only place that's ever happened to me.

go back and refresh if that happens
yeah don't ever proceed with bank or paypal side of things always cancel and return to merchant
I went straight back and completed the purchase. I got it for $22.75. Like I said, I have a long history of a love-hate relationship with Carrara. I'm dazzled by what appears to be its power, but have never learned how to use it. If I don't learn Carrara this time, I've only wasted a little "Pizza Money!"
we have a nice bunch of helpful people on our forum and a heap of lovely free plugins too you can even export Carrara hair as mesh now thanks to Philemo so as a modeler for DAZ studio it makes a nice stable alternative to Hexagon
th3Digit, thanks for the info. I may not really get to play with anything till the weekend. I'm expecting delivery of a 32" 1080p TV that I plan on using as a computer monitor.
AS you got it to work properly did you cancel the help ticket. CS do tend to be very busy and every ticket that is cancelled as not needed is going to help their payload reduce.

Chohole, thanks for reminding me. I'm easily overwhelmed, and was delaying a few things. Now I canceled the ticket.
OK, color me stupid or blind but where is this Carrara for 22.75.
Heck, I'd be happy if I could even find Carrara at all. 
It is $45.50 here https://www.daz3d.com/carrara-8-5-pro and then when I dropped it into my cart to see, it went down to $22.75 because of Platinum Club. :D
Edit: Then I used my $6 Daz voucher on it and it went down to $16.75, so I bought it! Yay!

I re-joined the PC Club recently. I got a massive amount of discounts this time around. It helps me get started again. I was a year behind on Genesis 8. Floyd 8 & Mable 8 were a dream come true for me. I've always wanted some realistic, older characters!
Hmmm..., guess I don't qualify. I put it in my cart and it shows up as somewhere around $145.
So, either the sale's over or me not being in Plat club drops me through the cracks. 
I started with Carrara1 (well, actually even before that when it was RayDream5.5) and stuck with it through Carrara8-pro.
I'd have jumped at a chance to get Carrara8.5-pro for $29 but even $45 would have been a temptation.
But no can do $145.
However, it doesn't matter because I haven't created anything of value with Carrara since Carrara2. 
LeatherGryphon, I have never created anything with Carrara! I hope in the near future to finally learn something.

I find hitting the back button on the browser and then refresh then back to cart will resolve the price. It happens to me sometimes. I have Carrara, but haven't gotten into it yet, I use Iclone 7 and Blender now for animations but I do want to look at Carrara since it makes easy use of a lot of Daz content.
$22.75!
