Is there an easy way to fit characters for couple poses?

I just got some simple poses meant for a couple, the way that I'm applying them atm is adding each pose separately and then using the rotate tool and translate tool to fit the characters together until it looks right. Is there an easier way to do this or is this how it's supposed to be done?

    If characters are zeroed when the couples pose is applied it will apply and move the character to the correct position the pose maker designed The pose may need to be adjusted further if the character is a different gender or size than the character the pose is made for. You may indeed need to move the figures a bit if the characters is a different height weight or size.

    Incorrectly made poses may behave incorrectly but you may still use them you’ll need to tweak them more though.

    I find I have to tweak most poses and consider it to be a fact of 3D life. LOL.

    Couples poses often must be tweaked because they involve close interaction.
