Wheels would need this, dear PAs

Another bike. As lovely as all the vehicles in DAZStudio look, they all are static in renders. To make them look moving we would need a texture for the wheels which was blurred, paticularly the spokes, a bit less for bikes, more for fast motorbikes and cars. That would be an easy and fast fix for static looking renders. As far as I looked, none of the vehicles sold here has such a texture.

There's a thread about this, somewhere -
But yes, everyone does this in post.
But I'm also not sure how that would look. You'd need a motion blur and it would have to radiate outward....like the tire itself has to also lose its detail.....
not just the spoke area...I'm trying to remember if anyone had posted some examples.....

There is a product that had a motion-blurred prop....I think it was a helicopter and it looked terrible.
I had that idea as well... but after I submitted the Road Bike. Doing the motion blur afterwards was no big problem, but I totally agree it would be nice to have a moving wheels option. I did that for the Albatros propeller not long ago, so it should be no general problem. For the wheels you will basically need another (disk-like) mesh with an opacity map and a blurred texture. Tricky thing is to make it look good at various light setups. Have to play around with that.
It's on the list for the next bike I will do... someday.... :)
Kind regards, Eagle99
That would be much appreciated. Because sometimes postwork is near impossible, if several items are overlapping with the wheel. A kind of pre-frabricated motion-blur would make life a lot easier. Could perhaps even be used as a kind of second skin for different wheels, as in motion they look very much alike.
Wheels only blur in photographs with slower shutter speeds. In real life, your eye doesn't (usualy) see the interior of the wheel. It you want "realistic" you would be better hiding the wheel interior/spokes.
Blur the background.
You are right with real life. But renders are more like photographs. People expect to see blurred wheels. Or invisible spokes. Not, what the render shows: still life with excellent visible spokes.
One option, if rendering with HDRIs, would be to combine Iray and 3DL using IBL- Master by Parris. Render the motion blur effect in 3DL, with some fiddling you should get pretty much the same lighting conditions, then composite in PS/Gimp.
3DL render:
I find this maddening when you want to do a sequnce in a story. I'd certainly pay for a wheel blur kit for your bikes with a few selectable levels of blur.
And a hint for your next bike .. how about a fat tire bike? Or an e-bike?
I may be misreading what you are saying, but if you are making a suggestion for PAs, the shop already has a fat-tire bike. https://www.daz3d.com/fat-bike
Perhaps this can help: https://www.daz3d.com/motion-blur-for-iray
thanks! missed that
What would really help is if DAZ would implement actual motion blur in Iray (which already supports it). Evidently it's kind of fallen off thier radar.
The scripts for linked product really only simulate motion blur by using progressive fading on multiple renders through the motion. Which is why it has a 'stroboscopic' looking effect, as opposed to the blur present in actual motion blur.
Toon Private Plane came with two propellors. You just change the visibility of which prop you want to use. One is a prop standing still and the other one is a motion prop. This was by 3djoji. Other things that bother me is when you get a room with the blinds and the freaking blinds will not close. Are you kidding me ?
