Looking for shirtwaist dress, G2 or G3

I'm looking for a fairly authentic reproduction of the famous Christian Dior shirtwaist dress of the 50s, what become ubiquitous for everyday wear once McCall's put out patterns for it. From the search I see Daz store has one for G8, but it's not at all what I'm looking for. The real dressses of the era were more form fitting,, especially about the waist, and were typically three quarters-sleeve or even full sleeve (the one in the store is short sleeve). The belt was wide and more often than not had a buckle. Some morphs for adjustments and length would be useful. I need this for G2 or G3. I've not had good results with converting G8 clothes to G3.

Yes on the Simplicity pattern; no on the more formal evening wear. I'm looking for the crisp shirt version of the Dior evening dress. It became a common "dress up casual" wear for women going about their daily lives. June Cleaver often wore one variation of another in "Leave it Beaver." I'm looking for the more classic version of the 50s and not the 60s: 3/4 sleeves, fabric belt with buckle, thick collar that could flip up the back, and buttons only to the waist (there were dresses that buttoned all the way down, but those are too casual for what I'm looking for).

This project is to reproduce the motif of mid-century magazine advertising. The people looking at these reproductions will know exactly what the dress is supposed to look like!

I remember my Father buying one for me on my 15th birthday,  It was made of white taffetta with a deep Royal blue chiffon overlay, collar, revers and cuffs were in white taffetta. The underskirt was made from what they called paper nylon, to make it stay full. The belt was Royal blue velvet.  They had a fashion show in our local Department store,  and the dress was one of the ones on show, and it was an exact fit, when Dad enquired, so he bought it for me to wear to my first ever Dinner and Dance.   Yes Ok mine was bought in the 60s,  but it was more the 50's styling. It was a style that could be worn by all ages.

    Another couple of images

Yes, it's a classic look, and has become somewhat of a symbol of the 50s (and 60s). Just like the sales of capris took off when Mary Tyler Moore wore them on the Dick Van Dyke show, TV and movie moms started wearing the shirtdress. They were already popular, but they became the de facto standard for everyday wear.

I'm thought I remembered seeing more of these in the various 3D storefronts, but what I'm finding is just a hint at the concept. Someone may still have a better example on offer, but they' must not be using the "shirtdress" or "shirt dress" name.

Wilmap has something close at her site for G2; you might be able to turn off the top part of the dress' texture and put on a regular button-front shirt and shader them together. https://www.wilmapsdigitalcreations.co.uk/view_product.php?id=404

For that matter, she's got a skirt/blouse pair that might work: https://www.wilmapsdigitalcreations.co.uk/view_product.php?id=399

EDIT: Jan has a shirtwaist dress for Genesis at ShareCG: http://www.sharecg.com/v/55357/gallery/21/DAZ-Studio/50s-GalPal_Updated
Apparently, it upconverts to G2F fairly well; I have a G2F version in my library, and the metadata says I transferred it from the original, and I don't see any texture stretching. The only downside is that the skirt has, as they say, VOLUME -- it kind of looks like it has a bustle, actually. Might be worth trying to dForce it, with dynamic strength lower than 1, to see if some of the volume can be tamed.

There's also a Poser V4 version which is almost exactly the shape you want in the skirt: http://www.sharecg.com/v/55801/gallery/11/Poser/Classic-Chick-GalPal-II
Apparently, I brought it over to Genesis via SRMS -- Sickleyield's transfer system from a while back -- and it looks like it survived OK. No idea how well it would do being brought from V4 to G3.

I have a dress for Genesis that might be of use with a bit of adjustment.

Thanks for the suggestions. In fact I started the idea with the Wilmap assets, and found many of them work out-of-the-box with dForce even, so that was a great help. But I'll have to create maybe 50 or 60 poses and I don't think a mashup will be time effective for me. I'm not at all good with modifying geometries and the the other suggestions would need a lot of work to make them work. Shortwaist dresses didn't use things like an Oxford  or princess shirt collar, and I don't know how to alter the mesh to make it look as it should. I don't mean to be picky but these are indended a set of premade blank advertising slogans for an antique mall. The sellers and customers trade in the actual dresses, so they'll know how they should look! They''ll nit-pick me to death if the art isn't perfect.

I might put this aside to see what pops up.

Honestly, the closest thing I can see with those specifications would be the Audacious outfit that came in the Penny 8 Pro Bundle. The problems are (1) G8F, not G3 or G2, and (2) even if you have Sickleyield's product that allows you to back-convert it, that skirt has no fullness at all

There's the Vista dress; it might work to put something with sleeves under the top, make that invisible except for the sleeves (assuming surfaces allow) and shader it all together. (... or not. Looking at it again, I didn't realize before how low the collar opening went. For today, it would be fine, for the 1950s, it would probably be a scandalous amount of cleavage.)

    Or...

Y-scale the skirt to make it longer and hide the apron (with an invisible material).  The neckline is low, but the collar is a better shape.

The Audacious outfit is pretty darn close. I don't have many G8 assets, but for this project I can buy some 2" heels for a G8 character and see of some of the G3 hair I have will work. If not I can pick something up. For the fullness of the skirt part since it's dForce already I might be able to (ahem) blow a little bit of wind up there to open it up. I can save that shape as a morph. It doesn't say there's a morph to flip the back of the collar up, but I can live without that -- or finally learn how to edit a mesh.

Thanks again for the tip. I think this will do it.

If you have G3 hair that you want to use, all you need to do is to change the scene identification to Genesis 8/Female, then fit to G8F, then save as a new Figure/Prop asset, and it should work on G8 just fine. (Except maybe the Vertigo Ponytail, which apparently has issues with that process.) Glad to hear that Audacious might work for you.
