DIM and Daz Studio Reinstall Troubles.

I recently had to wipe and reinstall my main drive.  This included the OS as well as Daz Studio, DIM, Hexagon, etc.  What I didn't have to reinstall was my Daz Studio Content.  Since I use and SSD for my main drive, the content is on a second HDD.  I reset the pathway in DIM to the correct folder on the second drive. I set the Content Libraries in Daz Studio and Re-imported the Metadata.

After all that, everything is great in Daz Studio.  My Content library is there, My Smart Content works.  It's good.

The problem is in DIM.  At the moment, everything is listed as Ready to Download, instead of installed.  I double checked the paths and even downloaded a package to make sure it's going to the right place, and it is.  I'm not going to re-download and reinstall 2500+ products that I have installed already.  I could just "Hide" the packages, but I'm concerend about missing an update if DIM thinks the product is "hidden" instead of "installed".

Is there anyway to convince DIM to check the /runtime/support folder to see if something's already installed?  Any suggestions are welcome.

DIM knows what it has installed by the .dsx files in the Daz Install Manager/Manifests folder in the Public user's Documents folder, which will have been on your C: drive, unless you edited the account.ini file to point to a different location. I don't think there's a way to rebuild the list if you don't have a back-up.

  • Thanks for the info.  I went looking and fortunately (due to previous computer problems) it looks like I unchecked the Delete Package Once Installed button in DIM, so I don't have to download EVERYTHING.  I'll just set it to Download/Resintall overnight and all will be good when the sun rises.
