What's wrong with wireless? I didn't see an entry for the G602. Its a bit older now, but the newer model changed things too much. The G602 is a wireless gaming mouse, but it doesn't look ridiculous like so many "gaming themed" things do. Its very comfy in the hand, and batteries last over 2-3 months. It has variable DPI and 2 polling speeds. The receiver has good range. It has weights that you can use so you can adjust the weight to your liking. Additionally, it can run on either 1 or 2 AA batteries, so you can make it really light by going with just one battery, though this does reduce battery life. It also features 8 extra buttons, 6 on the side, and 2 on top, and all can be reprogrammed. You can even save multiple profiles so you can have different setups for different programs or games.
Obviously you don't have to be a gamer to appreciate this mouse. These features make it very good for work related tasks and apps like Daz3D. I've had mine for 2 or 3 years now, its one of my favorite purchases. You can still find it in the $40-60 range online.
I thought I'd add this little nugget I picked up... One which I'm sure is pretty basic, but for some reason didn't occur to me right away.
If you use wireless mice (not the rodents, they'll be okay) keep them a fair distance from your wireless router and cordless phones.
I've never had a problem with cordless phones, but my router (which needs to be where it's located) would intermittently mess with my mice... Because it was intermittent, it took me a while to realize it was the router.
In my case as we gradually kept upgrading to more powerful routers, the problem surfaced.
Just thought I'd mention that for anyone having spazzy mice to consider as a cause.
Also sorry, if that was mentioned previously, I only skimmed the thread.
I can't speak for anyone else, and I know I'm probably just being a crotchety old man (of 44), but I snag my mouse cord on my keyboard probably half a dozen times a day and won't think twice about it. But the first time I'm using a wireless mouse and it has a glitch, I'll probably start cussing "!@#$ new fangled piece of crap. Shoulda kept my old mouse!" I'm just wary of new stuff. Didn't get a flat screen monitor till 2009.
I guess logically I know they're just as good or maybe better.
I have been looking at some of the suggestions in this thread out of curiosity and I can't fathom using a mouse where I have to move my entire hand when there are options to just move my thumb, probably because that is what I am used to.
That Logitech MX ERGO Advanced Wireless Trackball is on my next buy list after watching a video on it.
The G300 looks nice, enjoy the new mouse.
I have a Logitech Mx Anywhere 2. It is a wireless and contains a lithium battery. I didn't know that when I bought it. The instructions that came with it showed how you removed these little feet to change the battery, but the little feet didn't seem to want to come off. And then somehow I learned that it was a lithium battery--maybe looking on the web--and you just use a USB cable to charge it. Anyway, I like it pretty well.
Before that I had a microsoft mouse.
The middle mouse button on the wireless mice has not worked correctly in programs that use it, like Blender. I had to switch to 2 button configuration in Blender and remap them in programs like Marvelous Designer.
