Last Chance Gas Station

Pardon me, but my mind races. In a different thread, we were discussing what type of scene might provide a good backdrop for Moonshine's Diner. FirstBastien's name came up. I remembered I had the Last Chance Gas Station sitting unused for years. I often get hung up on the smallest details. I whipped up a simple, country-looking David 3 character, and put him to work in the gas station. Two questions come to mind. 1.) why do I have white lines which apparently restrict me to a small part of the scene? 2.) How can I adjust the lighting so David casts a shadow?!

    You're right! I've been at this hobby for almost 20 years, and I still have trouble with the simplest things.
