That's it. I'm done.

Just seen the new Stonemason library. Now all I need is Daz3d 10.0 RealLife(TM) plugin, and I'm outta here and into there for good. Brexit be damned: M'exit to a better place, with books.

The first promo picture might be the best iray render I've ever seen. If it renders that good out of the box I'd be amazed.

The REAL in those promos is pretty insane. Dude, could be a bang up interior designer! I'm looking at it thinking, I'd love s sculpture like that on my end table. I'd love a map like that on my wall.

Lol, this gave me a good laugh. Stonemasons stuff is top notch though. I could see myself staying there and reading for a very long time.

Looks mindbogglingly great. A bit on the expen$$$ive side, but I'll stick it in my wishlist anyway and hope for the best.

I'm not sure I'm visualising the whole set clearly, and there isn't a clay render; is there a door in the corner past the map on the wall, or is it in the corner with the floor lamp?

Yeah, I'm feeling like I'm done too. I want to grow up and be just like Stonemason someday. Fabulous renders mate!

Dont let it discourage you. Many of us are beguiners. It would be like a highschool kid compairing himself to Tom Brady and then giving up. Tom brady is Tom Brady because he never gave up. The trick is to compair your stuff to your own stuff and step by step make every new model you make, slightly better. Over time you will grow without even realizing it. You will be able to model like stone mason, blind folded, if you keep at it. I always look at people well beyond my skill level for inspiration. I would get terribley bored, very fast if I was the best and I had nothing new to learn. Or nobody to look up to. it's not the Destination that counts, but the journey. =]

It's gorgeous. However, I'm hitting the uncanny valley because I have never in my life seen that long of a shelf of books, that heavily loaded, which didn't start bowing in the middle. Books are heavy. Those shelves are just too wde a span to be able to support a real load of books that are that fully packed without showing the strain. (Speaking as someone who has had way too many bookcases collapse on them.)

It's not just the modeling, but the texturing and optimization that sets his sets apart and above the others. In the old days, a boy would work for him for free in order to learn how to do what he does.

Yeah, the book rows are gorgeous and beautifully done. (Well, the whole thing is gorgeous and beautifully done.) There are some other good ones, but quite often the books in a "library" setting are not convincing at all.
