I am so on the fence about this one.... on one hand... I really don't need an elderly lady. But on the other hand... Hagred is pretty awesome, and Halloween renders are coming soon.. so... ugh...
Oh YES! Not only is she awesome, but there are two great new hairstyles I've wanted for a while in the pro bundle with the schoolmarm type "bun" and the hair in curlers, a bunch of age appropriate clothing, and a great assortment of buy in bundle options. EDIT: Change that to NOT a great assortment of buy in bundle options, as most of the free bundles that were available last night seem to have been removed and replaced with the same things they've used for the last half dozen promos. WTH DAZ?
Waiting until morning to see if there's a green bar offer, but she's otherwise an instant buy. EDIT: And that was obviously a mistake, as the value of the deal dropped considerably
I am this close to pulling the trigger. I will probably never do a contemporary elderly woman image, but I have visions of old warriors and sci fi pilots dancing through my head right now. Also, I noticed the HD add on is actually included in the pro bundle which is a nice surprise.
They've been doing that the last few characters and I LOVE it ;).
BTW, adore the curlers....lol.

Another no-buy for me. Right now I don't use G8 females and I don't have spare $ 73.- to spend anyway right now...

And I forgot to mention but....did I spot Judy Dench? LOL
I think the HD is included with the base Mabel 8.
I love these older characters they are releasing for G8 but I have none of the necessary add-ons for G8 (various morph packs, skin shaders, clothing, etc.) so their usefulness is limited for me. I'll have to wait a few months for them to appear in bargain basement sales.
you don't need any add ons for G8 to use the base iconic figures. And most stuff for G3 autofits quite well to G8 (except maybe high heeled shoes)
She looks amazing. Cant wait to spot the first few renders.

I'm iffy on Mabel, she looks too simular to Eddie for me to get excited. But she does look like an interesting character. Her add-ons stand out better as wish list items than anything in her bundle. Yes, true - I have Edie 8 - but, as you say, I am limited to the base figure. I do enjoy tweaking morphs to create my own variations of these character. I have a few G3 figures but a library full of self-morphed characters for G3. I must say though that the clothing I have transferred to G8 for Edie has worked pretty well following SY's tutorial.
Having said all that I am mightily tempted to break the piggy bank this time.
Dammit. How many G8 products do you have to buy to get one of those??
I noticed Judy Dench, Hillary Clinton, Estelle Getty, & Bea Arthur. Didn't pick up Betty White, or Rue McClanahan or anybody else that easily.

Grrrrr. They've taken some out of the "select bundles" if you get the pro and the 3 addons. Not happy.
I'm barred.
Yeah, I was about to check out when the price of my cart doubled - two "select" bundles suddenly went to full price, and yet they're still listed with the other bundles when I refreshed the "Select Bundles" page. Well that's okay, I'll check back in a few hours, during Daz office hours, and if it's not fixed, I'll dump the cart, and it's "No Sale" for me.
Apparenlty they weren't supposed to be in that bundle category, so they won't be coming back.
I'm out. Any incentive for me to drop $72US ($96 AUS) has now gone. Some of those bundles are 11 years old. Once upon a time, you'd be able to select pro bundles of the current line (IE some G8 pro bundles) or even newish bundles. Now, it's just old stuff. My cart has been dumped and I'll save my $96 AU.
Oh la la, the free bundles are now all DO.

Mabel 8. Finally! Admittedly the wait wasn't excrutiatingly long, but why couldn't she have come out right after Floyd?
I always need old ladies so this is right up my alley. And no spike heels either. Hooray.
A lot of excellent add-ons as well. Although there are a couple of youngsters in there to make the pinup crowd happy.
The select bundles seem pretty screwy right at the moment. But then I don't need to pull the trigger until things settle.
Wow, Daz you are changing up your game. amazing. I won't be getting Mabel yet. Though , I really think you are switching your game for 2018. So many mature figures. So awesome to see you thinking outside the small box of the super model!
