These threads are enormously entertaining. Sometimes people seam darn right psychic while others come up with stuff way out of left field. lol It's fun to watch people speculate and guess. :) I do miss being able to guess too and participate in these types of threads, but it's just as fun to watch other people guess and speculate. :)

I'd buy a "Tom 8" Pro Bundle in a heartbeat, but that is so unlikely to ever happen.

Ima just put this idea out there for bundle contents: Body hair, HD anatomical elements morph, bulge morphs for pants, kinky sailor outfit, naughty cop outfit, manly moustache, maybe a nice Conan the bare-chested Barbarian outfit for the requisite fantasy clothing (because I don't have a ton of those already LOL).
Of course, it probably wouldn't work financially, unlike Lilith.
I would buy the clothing alone. But no Conan outfits. There are a ton already in the store.
I have a cat that is almost as old as Millenium Cat. I'm not exactly sure of her age, as she was a stray/rescue, but she had kittens in 2004. The millenium Cat bundle was released around August 27th, 2003. I'm guessing that Millenium Cat came out a bit earlier, but don't really know if that's the case. Google isn't seeing anything before the bundle, at least not that came up in my search...
And of course, the documentation pages for Millenium Cat appear to be MIA!

Teen Kaylee 8 has been released. She is too made up to look very much like a teen though (in my opinion). I thought a teen Genesis 8 character had already been released. They must sell well.
Kaylee was in the list of sighted names and Kaylee, with that spelling, we could of guessed it was a teen character or a fairy character.

Thorne’s work sells like crazy, so that’s probably why they show up so much.

I have some Tom of Finland shaders I made that work really well. I am supposed to get Internet tomorrow. If it actually happens (they've lied a *lot* to me in the last month), I'll post them up somewhere in a SFW render.

I’m wondering if generation 8 isn’t the ordinary generation. Yet we still have one more year left until generation 9.
It's a weird feeling, wanting to spend money here but not having much I want to buy that's new. Financially, it's a relief. I'm loving the occasional thing I do pick up for use on G8M, but mostly I've been digging the sales for Genesis 1 and 2, since I still use Poser a fair bit.
And add the increased price tag, it’s been a huge turn off for me. Generation 8 has been very lackluster and I’ve bought less generation 8 figures (other than creatures, and aliens) than any other generation combined.
Well, I'm disappointed because I now own 3 Genesis 8 Pro Bundles but when I tested to see if I get this extra 20% off discounts others had gotten in the past for owning 3 Genesis 8 Pro Bundles there was none, just the regular $66 & change price. Monique 8, and others, the earliest ones, were much better deals.
Oh, she is totally in the cart for me because teenage girls = squeee!!!

Yeah. I feel bad for Thorne because the criticism isn't fair to her (she makes what most Daz shoppers want to buy!), but c'est la vie.
I’m more into fantasy than realistic figures. Thorne makes really great faeries and elven girls.
Here's an early version of my Tom of Finland shader applied to Michael 2. This has been up at Facebook for years so I'm assuming it's safe for DAZ too. It works great in FireFly and SuperFly, but I need to figure out how to build shaders in 3Delight and Iray using DS(I have it in RSL but don't know how to use that in Studio).
I love Thorne's work, and on the great occasion that I do faerie work, I use Thorne's stuff that is now probably 10 years old but still looks great.

The nipples are an interesting challenge for Genesis 3/8. Tom of Finland does a really sexy stylized male nipple, which might be tricky on the newer figures with the way the polygons are.
There are solutions for females, but I'm not sure how they work on males (if at all).
that last part makes me very curious about the reason why there’s not that many male figures. It could be that Genesis 3/8 has a fatal flaw in how it’s modeled that makes it near impossible to get realistic nipples on the male figures.
Thanks! I haven't tried it on the newer figures yet. I'll play with a bit tonight and see what I can come up with for G8's nipples. Looking at the wireframe it seems like they're modeled as mere bumps vs. having any real detail or crease. As it is, you'd almost certainly have to geograft more detailed geometry on to get Tom of Finland's style. G8M's nipple just seems to be made from subdividing the mesh and relying on basic vertex pulling. It isn't bad for what it is, but if that's an area of interest for an artist then more attention is needed.

Well, you have to understand that I've been looking at those models for about 20 years. I'm not a fairy person so much (and that's what they do best as) AND they pretty much all look alike. I already HAVE one that looks like the new one from each generation. What do I want with more than one? LOL. If one adds to the gene pool, another is going to add the same thing, so I'm not in the market for one until next generation ;) The fact that they keep releasing them for the same generation seems redundant to me.

I dont care for the Thorne style. I like more realism and the eyes are very big and the look the same for each time one is released.
They are popular and so I understand, but I would prefer some teens that look less toony . It seems odd to strive for realism in all but youngsters who look like a different style than the adults.
I think most people are just disappointed not to see a Thorne character specifically but that the arrival of another means fewer chances to see other content.
they should redo Victoria 8's fbm and fix her wonky toes.
