Subsurface workshop in less than 1/2 hour- hurry!!!!

https://www.daz3d.com/subsurface-workshop-sss-shaders-for-iray

This guy, right there. Who knows what it does? Like actually WHAT IT DOES.

Like, has used it and has some kind of official report. Yes, it's even me in all those threads asking about it AND everyone chiming in saying they have no real clue either.

BUT! It's been a year or so, so anybody every buy it, use it and figure where it rocks best?

Hurry before it goes out of the flash sale. I DO NOT want to pull the trigger and NEVER use this.

I do that too much.

----

To be honest, I will probably buy it and trust Dimension Theory to have done something worth buying. lol

Everything else of his works well and he has 3 products that I use EVERY DAY. Yep everyday I reach for one of those three.

Yes, he's my official sky supplier- er, until we go to an alien planet.

With that said, total transparency- I will probably buy it and apply his named preset for whatever it matches, use iray preview to make sure it looks okay and trust that there is some sort of intangible improvement.

Gosh, I'm a loser.

Anybody have any feedback? Not really looking for technical specs and stats, I read the description and googled up SSS and such...

So maybe I'm not asking what it does, I'm asking what real world anecdotal - stories about this product exist.

Anybody?

I mostly just use it as a shader set myself.... it's nice shaders. It dates, I believe, from the beginnings of Iray, though, so while I believe it was cutting edge for its time I'm not sure it adds anything new if you already have a ton of recent shaders.

That said, I use the hair and especially the vegetation presets semi-regularly, so....

I just got it too, because DT does good work. I don;t have time to test it for you. At less than $7.00 and a time crunch, I think you need to get it and return if it is unsatisfactory. But I trust DT.

I have it. It's a good shader set. I like the liquids and waxes (I haven't tried the cloths). I noticed the hair shaders can slow renders down so I don't use those. But then most shaders with SSS are usually going to add a bit more to the render time. But the look that it gives is often worth it. All in all I really like this set.

I recommend getting them - if you end up not liking them you can always return them. :) Customer service has always been great about returns.

If you're good with SSS, you can make stuff that looks just as impressive as Iray renders.

Thanks all, I did see an extra discount so it was $4.22 and well, can't pass that off. I trust you, really so ANY feedback I'm sure is on point.
