I don't need my dreams explained to me. I know exactly what they mean and how everything fits together while I'm dreaming them and for about 10 seconds after I wake up.
After that I can't remember enough of the details to tell anybody in any meaningful way. After 1 minute I can't remember enough of the details for me to even examine it in any meaningful way. After 10 minutes nothing matters except my coffee.
I don't know how many times I've solved world peace, learned how to fly, and talked with dead people but I keep doing it.
That you dreamed about Daz perhaps means it is time for a recharge, a short trip to the woods or some secluded place zone out for a while.
My dreams are all over the place. I had one where I was fighter pilot, and my copilot for some reason was a suicidal werewolf. She would turn into a werewolf during missions and suddenly want to crash the plane into the ocean, killing us both. Not good. I managed to escape and found a car (don't know how, it seemed to skip to land.) I drove the car, but the road for some reason was made of slippery non stick Reynolds Wrap, and I struggled to keep the car on the road and away from the cliff. Because of course there is a cliff. I fell off, and woke up.
But later on I had another weird dream where there were gremlins running through the place. Yeah, gremlins. I caught one running behind a couch, and for reasons I do not know, I ripped its leg off and ate it. But there was no blood, and it tasted like...potatoes. Slightly raw, half cooked potato.
Hmm, my guess at interpreting this dream is that you don't feel in complete control of your life. You want to accomplish something but other people are getting in your way and influencing you in negative ways. You are trying to keep in control but situations keep steering you away. The second dream seems like you are determined to get your power back and you now see your problems as little gremlins and you are bigger than them and as annoying as they may be, you are stronger and when you overpower them, literally stopping them in motion by ripping their leg off, you realize that they were really nothing major in the first place, just bland boring potatoes, and you got your power back.
Just an amateur interpretation. No idea if any of that is true but it was fun trying to interpret it!
@ Wonderland...
What you said doesn't sound weird at all.
I have some "interesting" ideas about some kinds of dreams, but since I don't subscribe to any one theory about those kinds of dreams, it would be rather long, convoluted and unscientific sounding to explain what is not something I completely feel is even "sort of an answer"...
Your AD/PU OEB (sorry to abbreviate) idea is an interesting one... and like I said, not weird sounding. Although it could easily be argued that I had accidentally injured myself in my sleep, I've woken up with physical cuts or bruises that corresponded to things that happened in a dream. In one case, about thirty years ago, a girlfriend noticed I had a huge wide raking set of scratches on my back, which I didn't know was there. Needless to say, at first she thought it was a scratch from a person, but she looked at them and realized it was one direction, the scratches were about three inches apart, there were only four and they trailed from a light bruise... When she told me, I was a little creeped out because I had a dream that night where I had been scratched by a large creature (I returned the favor with a crowbar or rebar rod that I picked up).
Maybe I fell out the window in real life or a really large mouse attacked me while I was sleeping... Whatever, the dream was stil pretty interesting and exciting.
When I was younger, I used to have occasional dreams about places I'd never been to... But then at a later date I'd actually end up going to that place... These were not places that I'd ever have had the ability to see beforehand... And by that I mean, on TV, in photos, having read about or have had described to me or even had visited as a small child and "forgotten... It was very creepy.
In a few instances, it wasn't just places in other states or cities, but in other countries. It's weird to come across a side street or wooded path and know exactly what is going to be around the next turn, like you've been there many times.
Weirder is to find the place, and look for something that's missing from the memory and find out that it torn down down years ago, or something like that.
And I know it could be argued that perhaps I had access to photos or information about the area, or had been there but forgot, or it was a generic area that could be anywhere, or it's coincidence... But I know it isn't. I don't know why it was, but it's none of those... And I don't necessarily subscribe to the more "unconventional" answers either... It may be a little of everything... I don't know. I'm still processing an acceptable answer.
I'm not even getting into dreams I've had about stuff that ended up happening.
But with all of those, they are "special" dreams... Most of my dreams are regular mundane or "fantastic but not noteworthy" dreams... The "noteworthy" ones are the ones that are the coolest.
Whatever they are or aren't, I mostly enjoy them as no form of entertainment matches them and it's cheaper than an action theme park... And besides, I get to blow stuff up, solve complicated puzzles spanning decades, crash spaceships and hit big lizardy-badger-rats with rebar, in them... Who wouldn't enjoy that?
I watched a youtube video on lucid dreams and promptly gave myself nightmares trying the techniques
and one was using 3D and being in the software but not in a fun way
