Lorelei Mertail on G3?

I just purchased Lorelei Mertail (https://www.daz3d.com/lorelei-mertail-for-genesis-2-female-s) because I had heard that it is a wearable instead of a geograft, and thus could theoritically be used on other characters. I have Wear Them All for G3M and G3F, so I thought maybe I could autofit to G3 males and females.
No good. Autofit looks fine until you hide the legs, then there are holes where the legs used to be. So I thought I'd try not fitting, just parenting to the figure's pelvis. That fixes the holes, but then none of the poses or adjustments work.
I feel like there should be a way to make this work. Does anyone know of any way to get this tail working on G3?

It's a beautiful prop... but for Genesis 3?
The easiest way to get a Mertail to work would be to ask the Daz folks for a return, and exchange it for the Laguna-Mermaid set for G3F.
Of course, I have both sets, but I also use Genesis 2.
I would, but the Laguna set is a geograft only for G3 female. I want merMEN to match my mermaids. So as far as I can tell, this is the only chance of getting that, since it's a wearable and not a geograft.
OK... tried a few tricks to get Laguna on G3M. Doesn't work.
I put Lorelei on Ivan 7... it seems ok after I turned off Mesh Smoothing.
You shouldn't use Autofit with something like a mertail that has a bunch of custom bones or structures; Autofit removes them, by design.
You can try using Transfer Utility instead -- it has options that will let you retain the custom bones, and then you'll need to save off as a figure/prop -- but anything that hides the legs automatically, the way that a mertail must, may not work properly across those particular generations. The leg structure is different between Genesis 2 and Genesis 3.
Personally I just parent it to the hip of the figure I want to use it on ...... this is Genesis 3 male and female
and this is Lost Realms for Genesis 2 on Genesis 3 male and female
Ok, parenting to the hip seems to leave all the poses intact, so that's cool. A little resizing makes it look believable. I'll have to work on fixing the texture where the torso meets the tail, if that's even possible.
I don't know anything about transfer utility, is there a good tutorial on that? Would there be an advantage to using that over just parenting to hip?
Another thing to try is shrinking the legs to almost nothing, then set the tail to collide with the figure.
If you're comfortable parenting to the hip and everything works the way you want, then I'd keep working with that.
I don't know if there's a good tutorial for what you need. This one describes the process for going from Genesis 2 to original flavor Genesis, but I don't know how well it will work to reverse the process from G2 to G3: https://sickleyield.deviantart.com/journal/Tutorial-Custom-Bone-Rigs-G2F-to-Genesis-Convert-398192766
As I say, if parenting and postwork give you results you're happy with, I might just stick with that workflow.
Word on the street is that Arki (and friends) is putting out a new Mermaid set that looks pretty remarkable! Not sure if it is going to be G3 compatible. I'm not sure if it appropriate to share the images here or not, but her Deviant Art site and FaceBook (ariki3d) page has sneak peeks. I'll be taking the plunge when released! (nyuck, nyuck, nyuck!)
Thanks everyone, I have something workable now. I wish Daz would make a mertail for the guys, but until then I'll have to fake it with this.
Thanks again!!! ^_^
Looks like it is a geoshell for genesis 8
And in the store as of tonight.
