G8F pose on G8M

Well i tried a female pose on a male and i got some really weird results, at least not what i expected. On the woman it looked natural but on the male it looked really off.

Does the female model have different bones/joints then the male?

sadly i cant show the pose as it was a nude pose. He was strapped on a chair tied by his wrist and ankles in a compromising pose. So im in doubt wether the posing on male and female is different (this because i often see pose-packs who have poses for females and the same poses for males in stead of a more general "poses for Genesis 8 figures"). But given it such a weird pose it may simply be that.

Interesting. With G3, I've always found them interchangeable (with minor tweaks). I think you're right...perhaps the more extreme/unique the pose, the greater the gender variance.

When you use a pose on a figure of different height, different limb size or simply different shape there's a good chance you'll need to adjust it to take those differences into account.

With a pose like you described those differences could lead to rather big variatiions.

Female poses sold here tend to be fairly exaggerated in the spine, hip and leg and chest area. So they tend to need correction on the males mostly because we don’t typically see males or real life women posed like this. I don’t like that pinup style personally but it is popular with buyers.

I usually do the reverse, because I often want to pose women who aren't thrusting their boobs to the skygods.

Not all pose makers do this. Feral fey tends to be much more morderate with her female figures so there is less exaggeration going on. Her poses are pretty gender interchangeable friendly I have found.

I've been playing with Assembly Line product by Riversoft Arts (sold here) and there is a function to make a pose compatible with another figure. You can in principle make a G8F pose compatible with G8M.  It might still look pretty femine if, for example, it's some kawaii girly pose, but I'd like to see how it works.  May experiment.

G8f poses are already compatible with G8m.

Okay then, G3F pose on G8M.  It says it can do any figure, surely to varying degress of success though.
