Reseting a pose X, Y, Z end position?

Greetings,

So maybe I didn't title this correct, but what I am looking for is a way to rest the way a predefined Pose comes into DAZ Studio.

My case being there are 3 poses I am using from frame 0 to frame 96.

Pose 1 at frame 0, comes in at 0,0,0 respective to X, Y, Z; however, the character is actually facing 180 deg from front on the Y axis

Pose 2 at frame 48, comes in with the character at an actual Y axis of 0.

Pose 3 at frame 96; however, the character is turned 90deg on the Y axis.

So as you can imagine, going from 1 to 2 to 3 there is a lot of spin to the character that has to be corrected manually; this is really a ^%$% when the character goes from the initail laying or prone pose, to a crouching pose, as there is X and Z rotations there as well. (starts on back, rolls over, then pushes/sits up to a crouch.)

The question is; is there a way in DAZ to pull in a character pose, turn it so that hip and/or head are more or less pointed in the same position from all thier initial preset poses. and then reset the new positions on the poses to a 0,0,0, position as a new default X, Y, X.

Twouldst make my life just SOOoo much easier :)

Thanks

Doing animations in DazStudio can be tricky.

You could load in the poses one by one on frame 0, change the initial orientation of the figure and save them as new pose presets. You have to take care of the main body (root node) Y axis rotation and the hip bone rotation because both can turn the direction in which the character is facing.

Another thing you can do is to turn on the lock icon on these rotation properties in the Parameters pane before loading the pose. This will prevent the current rotation values on these properties to get overwritten by the loaded pose.

Also the interpolation settings can make a huge difference in the movment between the frames.

To change them you would need a plugin like the keyMate and/or graphMate.

    Thank you.

I have both graphMate and keyMate as top priorities in my wish list now. Looking at them being used in conjunction may be a good 60% of my answer.

I'll post again any results once I get farther along.

I posted a thread about this matter earlier this morning.  Looks like I may have received my answer here.

There is also this Pose Preset Load Options dialogue that pops up if you hold Ctrl while loading the pose.

With this you can select which transforms to apply or not.

The settings Nodes Selected in combination with Recursive for example would allow you to apply a partial pose to the bones. Maybe select the left/right collar or thigh fist to load the pose only for the arms or legs.

In the Preferences tab you also have options to apply the settings you made by default, see the nodes Shift+click is the silent mode I guess.

    Hmmm...

Will have to look at this and see what different options produce, but the information in teh character flying around thrread is very helpful, and I can assume/guess that my 3 poses are using the hip to make a lot of changes.

I am basically at the same "starting over again" point with this, so hopefully by end of week I can pick up the 2 add-ons and had time to review the pre- load options.

    Wow,

Okay so I "real quick" threw a blank scene together and put character into it.

Using the same 3 poses at 0, 15, 30 frames I used the Pose preset option and removed the Y axis from the pose settings.

Just that much and the "tweens" are 1000% better! She no longer sits up like a dog on her way to pose 2, nor does she dive into the ground plane on her way to pose 3.

Wish I knew how to do a quicke shaded animation render, I would show the difference just that one change made.

<--- happy camper off to work now.

Just purchased downloaded and installed keyMate and graphMate...

So any idea where they might be to open?

They are not a new pane or viewport, in Pose, Lighting or render. I've followed the path of the install files, and the appear to be in the same folder as aniMate2, which DOES create a pane/viewport... (so should be loading on startup)

    Ideas?

Have you entered their serial numbers in Help>About Installed Plug-ins, and then restarted Daz Studio? You can find your serial numbrs in your account page, or by right-clicking on the entry in Install Manager.
