I hate it with a passion!

I hate it, I really hate it with a passion! Even the new, othervice very, very good looking Sci-fi Police Outfit for Genesis 8 Female emphesises the brests of the woman figure with something form-hugging. For God's sake, PAs, can't you just make them a useful piece of armor like the male police officer version? The suit under that armor can be as form-hugging as you like, but armor pieces, if they are intended for any practical use at all, shouldn't. Never. Ever.

And this nice uniform begs to be used for serious action. Except, it has this fault ...

Uh... I hear you, I think you're right. There are a lot of outfits there made with camera sexiness in mind, not practicality or even reality.

I wonder what happens if you put his Torso Armor on her figure....

    Regarding realistic female armor:

    But it won't sell.

    [End whine]

Well, for me, form-hugging armor doesn't sell. Not to me.

In that case- how about both options?

There was a recent discussion on just why this is not a practical option - most characters will chnage the breast shape, and those changes will be projected into the chest covering even if it starts out shaped to flatten the breasts, producing weird lumps. It's frustrating, and it is possible to work around it to some extent but only if the end-user does a lot of the work (for example, by setting the morph not to AutoFollow - though that isn't much of an option for an FBM that does need accomodating elsewhere - or by creating custom morphs - but there's a limit to how many of those the PA can offer, and it won't civer new characters released after the clothing).

  • A stopgap would be using SickleYield's Breast Fixer, with a bit of Smoothing Modifier. Not perfect, but it's a start, at least.

Richard, correct me if I'm wrong, but shouldn't it be possible to give this breast armors some thickness, which would compensate for diverse breast shapes, and just tell the users to shrink the breasts a bit if that is not enough?

Yes, but they will still inherit the chnages for other morphs - it isn't about hidng the breast mesh, which can be done with a geoGraft, but making the outfit behave on morphed figures. Making the area rigid, via a Rigidity Group, would allow poke-through with morphs that chnaged the whole torso size, which the armour should reflect. Rigid and with adjustment morphs might work, but would probably require more user-action than a store product would usually require.

The torsos of the police outfits  for either gender rarely reflect reality. Real body armor tends to make a boxy bulky torso and the chests of models wearing armor armor can’t be really tight or form fitting.

these suits were released at the same time but they aren’t actually intended to be male/female versions of the same outfit.

If it covers the torso, turn off auto follow and make the torso invisible to avoid clipping or include a breast squish morph. Maybe make the armor plate itself a different piece parented to the rest of the outfit. If these don't work, then there is a fundamental flaw with the Genesis platform that needs to be addressed.

crossfit some male police armor ?

Even largish breasts in decent armour are largely hidden, so turn down the breasts: a lot. Many women (I understand) wear support bras that don't tend to emphasis and are more likely to hide the breasts, or at least partiall conceal.

Google for real word images to see what I mean.

They are. I remember one friend who was quite buxom showing me her bullet proof vest. It was not designed as boob armor but was designed to protect against bullets. There was only a shelf a bit more space at he top for breasts but it was enough to fit inside even for someone on the larger size of the breast spectrum. most bullet proof vests are unflattering to anyone who wears them. They aren’t made to be sexy but to save lives

Wouldn't make an iota of difference to the morph projection issue, and would be distorted to fit over the breasts even more noticeably than the set made for the female.

That's why I drastically flatten the breast before autofitting Male armor.

Just take armor into the modler of your choice and fix the problem.
