SC Sara eye texture bug.

The SC Sara character has the same eye bug that SC Lauren had. Anyone else encountering this?

Hard to tell from the  small image, but how does it render? there are special Iray properties that don't show correctly untill you render and this might be one of them.

SC Marquita has the same issue. I decided I would just replace the eye materials, though I haven't tried to yet.

If you are rendering in Iray without a background, the "problem" might be if the sclera SSS Mode on the Surface Tab is set to Chromatic. If it is, switch it to Mono and see if there is still an issue (or render the figure without changing anything but place some kind of background behind them).

I will try that when i get home thanks! I know SC Lauren had the same issue, then they updated it and it was fixed.

Instead of turning it to Mono (which will significantly change the color when rendered), change the Scattering Measurement Distance to .025 on the iris, sclera and pupil. That will preserve the intended color a little better and keep the eyes from disappearing. Another option is to render with the dome on and that will fix the disappearing eyes as well.

OR it can be fixed in a patch?

This is an iray issue on NVIDIA’s end as I understand it, so NVIDIA would have to fix it.

nothing here worked. The PA fixed the issue with SC Lauren by issueing an update. A few other of his characters have the same bug. NONE of my other characters have this bug. Im hope he fixes this or I will have to return the character.

If none of those worked for you, make sure to submit a support ticket if you haven't already. There's no other dependable way for a vendor to know of an issue otherwise.

Have you reported it to CS?

I have seen other characters with the issue, as ChangelingChick says it seems to be an Iray issue so we may hpe that the next update fixes it - in the meantime a couple of quick modifications have been suggested above, which you cold then save as your own presets.

If you have the character that's been fixed too, select the eyes materials of the character that's not fixed and, while holding down the control key, apply one of the eye materials of the character that's been fixed, setting the dropown that appears to "Ignore". It will change the shader, but leave the image maps in place and I'm certain it's the shader that is the problem, not the images. Or you could always just use the eye materials from another character. I do it all the time. Just until the problem is fixed, that is ;)

Here. I saved the material fix for you. You can use it on any eyes that are disappearing in an Iray render and it should fix the problem. It's set to work on G3/G8. It will fix the Iris, Pupil and Sclera rendering until NVIDIA fixes the issue.
