Download Speeds After Lastest DIM Update 1.1.0.98

Just an FYI. Was hesitant to update DIM (created a restore point first) and was pleasantly surprised to see a flawless update (just clicked update - no refresh needed). Downloaded over a 100 products and hit above 8mg on two different PC's.

Yes, but you still have the 32 bit version. You need to hit alt refresh if you want to update to the 64 bit.

Download speeds did seem a bit faster yesterday than they have been in recent weeks.  Don't know if the new DIM update had anything to do with that, but it was nice not having to wait 4-8 hours for downloads to complete for a change.  It used to be a rare occurence (taking that long to grab pro bundle sale content) taking more than say 4 hours, but not lately...

The update won't have affected speeds - indeed, for me (on a slowish connection by modern standards) DIM has always been close to the maximum possible. It's more likely that speeds improved after the really big promos over the weekend ended.

There is a 64 bit version of DIM?

So far so good so why not open DIM and hold alt and click refresh. By george I shall try it!

..it's been that way since Daz 4.0  I could barely render anything more ambitious than a single character in a simple vignette setting without worrying about it crashing it crashing (and that was with 3DL)

Well it was a nice thought anyways.

My DIM download speeds from Daz are once again at a snail's pace.  I routinely get much faster download speeds from Daz's primary competitor, even during the same hours of the day I just downloaded a bunch of freebies from them, and it took me only a few minutes simultaneously with my Daz downloads no less.  This Daz download cue (thanks to the Beauty of Asia sale and coupon) will probably still be going for several more hours.

I just downloaded 20+ packs from DIM and my download speed was normal, about 5 Mb/s. I somtimes get upwards of 7Mb/s. Your ISP may be having issues atm.

The problem with this theory is that my download speeds at other sites are not abysmally slow.  Just Daz/DIM.  I can do 1 GB downloads from other sites in just a few minutes, while at the same time Daz is struggling with a 40 MB download for 20 minutes or more... and it doesn't matter what else is going on (other downloads concurrently, or if the connection is otherwise just sitting idle besides DIM doing it's thing.

You could just be trying to download when a lot of other people are as well. Like I said I just downloaded and it was fine. It could also depend on where you are located.

ISP throttling your downloads from certain IPs due to excessive downloads? ;-)
