I Have an Image which Shows what I can't say.

Here it is.  I just want to make the wires of lights and cameras smaller like they were.  Thank You!

It is indeed irritating when the lights and cameras obscure the subject. It would be great if there was an option to simply make them invisible (per object preferably). This issue also relates to deformers. If a lot of them are applied then you can hardly even see the subject. In addition, if these "scene-objects" were made invisible then they should also be unclickable. Currently the scene-objects often mean that you have to resort to the scene menu to select the subject rather than just being able to click on it. The ability to make scene-objects invisible (and unclickable) would significantly improve DS work flow.

Well. for the cameras, you can always click on the eye-icon in the scenery tab to make them (in)visible'they still funtion as they should

For the lights. you may want to adjust the parameters of the selected light in the parameters tab - esp. Ray lenght and Opacity Scale

(I hope this is what you meant.... tried to attach an image, but this time the forum isn't cooperative.... frown )

    whaddayanow, it did attach, twice........

Scaling a dForm base will affect both it and the dForm, without having an effect on the operation of the dForm. Other items (lights and cameras) can also be scaled. It's also possible to edit the Avatar settings in the Parameters pane.

First, I have to say Thank You for the attempt to make me understand.  But WHAT?  You see the giant spotlight wires under the Saucer shape?  I just want to be able to make that representation of the light smaller without affecting the light itself.  I'm sure ya'll tried to tell me, but...

Custom Shader Light - hence the "C" in the light avatar

Select the light, go to the parameters pane, reduce the value in the "Scale" parameter. This changes the size of the wireframe spotlight, but has no effect on the actual light (well, it doesn't in iray, I didn't try 3DL). I don't know if this is what Richard meant by "the Avatar settingsin the Parameters pane" - I couldn't find anything so labelled.

As I've just been reminded, since this is a custom light shader it is possible that scale may have an effect on the way it renders - so do a before and after scaling render test just in case.

Hmmm. I'm still trying to figure it out.  It doesn't render, it just bugs me!

I just picked a Create Spotlight. I don't know how it became CUSTOM.

Are you saying that's the reason it's big?

With cameras, just click the eye in the scene tab next to the camera. It will still work, but won't show in the viewport. to avoid an item being highlighted when you mouse over it, select the little check mark next to the eye and change it to an "X" and it will be unselectable till you need it.
