    That would be nice.

Just for the record...  Personally I am not insulted, upset, or feel like I am owed anything just because I have already (over) spent here in the past.

My initial message was in jest. But the item about Starter Bundles / Pro Bundles was not.

I would really like this to be in place just so that I can:
    1. Avoid seeing things listed that I have already bought.
    2. Being able to not have to open each of the Starter Bundle pages, followed by at least one of the contents, to see if I already own it.

I'd also like to sort sale pages by what might be in my Wishlist. But I know that probably will never happen.

In addition, having the reverse of "hide items I own" (i.e. "only show what I own) so that I can see a catalog of items that are in my library.

Oh well. That's my 2 cents.

I don't care and don't know what the offer was supposed to be.  I got the alternate offer because I already have the Daz horse pro bundle and all the pro bundles Daz sells.  I put the Victorian bundle in my cart along with the 2 textures and the bundle came out to $18 and change and the 2 textures $5 and change. Thanks Daz I didn't need anything free that I didn't really want just glad I got a good deal on something I wanted.

There's a button I use when I come across the 'And you own them all!' situation, that appears on my product pages.  'Hide product from listings'.

I'm not sure if that's from the Daz Deals plugin or part of the product page, but whenever I see a Starter or Pro bundle where I already own everything in the bundle, I hit that button and the bundle disappears from the listing pages.

For today's sale, that whittled down my Starter bundles from over a Dozen to just 3.  And I own a good chunk of the products contained in those three bundles, but at least I'm ready for the 'next time'.

This also helps in those situation when you 'accidentally' end up purchasing all of the contents of the pro bundle via separate purchases.

I remember having to contact Customer Service about the Michael and Victoria bundles that I acquired as part of either Carrera or Hexagon (don't remember which now), to get the additional discount.  Even though I received the full bundle contents, the 'Pro bundle' ownership wasn't 'flagged'.

I still think that the really loyal customers (i.e. those that already have the 'bonus bundles' should get some other form of recognition when bonus offerings aren't available to them, via a % off coupon or something, seeing that they've been such good Daz customers.

Of course, in situations like these, the Sales team would actually have to code the 'check' for 100% ownership of the bundle contents, which based on the Victoria/Michael situation I just mentioned above, might not be as easy as it sounds.

I feel like the store software is a house of assorted cards anyways, that isn't 100% robust, so tempting fate with the store software might be a bit of a challenge to those responsible for maintaining it.

Just curious, what was the alternative offer? I too own all the G6 pro bundles which means I own all the starter bundle items and the Daz horse 2 so no incentive for me to purchase anything I don't really need right now.

You can do that with DAZ Deals browser add-on.

If your browser of choice is supported it's definitely worth trying IMO, it has lots of useful features like for example displaying total % discount on each item in the cart.

DAZ can help you out there. Go to "My Account" and "Product Library." You can see a list of everything you've bought, sorted by name or purchase date (ascending or descending), and there's a handy filter box so you can limit the products shown by typing in part of the name of whatever you're searching for.

Agreed! Daz just needs to stop with free additional incentives, because obviously there are always going to be those that are never happy with what's offered for whatever reason and think something is owed to them.

Entitled attitudes are upsetting. But to be fair, there is another more generous interpretation. "There's always another sale," so if you purchase your insta-buys today when they're accompanied by an unattractive offer, tomorrow's offer might be really fantastic and good for any new item--but you miss out because now there's nothing new you want to buy anymore. The "buy x items from today's new releases" must be working for DAZ, but they never seem to be attractive offers to me. Realistically, if a person has enough disposable income to buy $30 worth of unwanted stuff just to unlock a discount, they probably don't even need the discount. Sales are all about psychology and enticement, and part of it is game theory: what will I lose out on tomorrow if I buy the thing I want today? We know good sales and discounts requiring "any new item" are in DAZ's sales toolbag, the only question is when they'll pull 'em out. I don't require DAZ to bribe me to buy Cain or OSO Hair Shaders or whatnot, but when buying stuff does unlock discounts and offers--which is what happens here, every day--it only makes sense to wishlist stuff until the accompanying offer is actually useful.

I don't think the software would interprete ownership of all constituents the same as owning the bundle. For one, there is no transaction record for the purchase of the bundle. And since items can be added and removed from a bundle doesn't make implementing this any easier.. What could be done is provide an additional upgrade facility for those who own significant items from a bundle to the whole bundle itself. For those who own all items of the bundle it should be a $0 upgrade. The point is to have a transaction on record for the bundle ownership so that all future promotions can take that record into account. At the end of day, it remains a question of whether the juice is worth the squeeze.

Even when they give away items as free it is considered a purchase. They should also count owning of all the constituents of a bundle as owning the bundle too

Except that it's not always equivalent, sometimes there are bonus items which are only available when you buy the bundle. Case in point the extra breeds and textures that you can get only in the Horse 2 bundles...

Except situations where there are extra items accessable only through the bundle isn't equivalant to having all the componants, which makes sense.

However, when we look at the Pro bundles, they DO frequently list Starter bundles (with the componants listed below those), but they are never counted as being purchased when you buy the Pro. It just makes sense that at least those cases where we have acquired ALL the componants of a bundle, be it by satisfying purchacing all the individual items or by buying a bigger bundle that includes the smaller, they should be counted.

I use the DAZ-Deals plugin to HIDE the starter kits and other bundles I have completed separately. Works great!

    Sort of a weird attitude.

I view it as an extra perk for buying stuff I like at already a high discount.

Oh, don't get me wrong, if I didn't already like and want the Victorian stuff, I wouldn't care what they're offering (I've only done that once - back when a March Madness was buy a new release every day and get M5 free)  But I still wish the starter bundles were marked as purchased, because then I wouldn't have to check to see which ones I actually owned.

I do agree starter bundles should be included as part of the pro package so they will show up as purchased.

    +1

    Entitles?

Well, all I am entitled to is use products I purchased (whatever their cost), or made myself; if I don't like the offer, I have an easy way of showing my disapproval, it's called not purchase. Ranting can be cathartic, but I doubt makes much difference on the forums.

Oh, I know about that, but it doesn't really work for me. My work process is a bit peculiar (I think) compared to a lot of other people.

When I am working on a scene I like to scroll through the thumbnails of my products, looking to see if anything catches my eye.

The sales pages give me a nice little snapshot of each asset, making it easy to scroll up and down without a lot of hunting. The Product Library requires me to click on each item in order to see what it looks like.

I know my use is pretty specialized, so I don't expect it to ever be an option. Still, I can dream.

Good information. I will take a look into that. Thanks!

(It would be even better if it was an Android app. Then I wouldn't even have to be at my computer to spend more money.)
