It might be worthwhile to make a or few anime hairs that have the ability to morph for example their front bangs to say how many front spikes you want, the size in terms of length and width. Similar for the sides of the the hair. The spikes in the front could have a morph that also shifts the spikes left or right to get better positioning. There should also be a morph that allows for the spikes to curve in either direction. The back of the hair could have a morph that controls the length and width. There could be anatomical attachments for the hair for the back and ponytails or buns. As well as, including anatomical attachments for the 1 or two hairs that stick up on top. Further anatomical hair attachments can be made with different styles to further monitize the anime hair morphing product
The good thing about anime hair is that it is easy to make/render so that these morphs could be made for such hair. Kinda similar idea to the Terradome but for anime hair. An anime hair product like this would become an essential product like Fit Control, Breast Control, and OOT and Slosh's hair shaders. This product would yield a much larger demand for sales than individual anime hair products, as this product would allow consumers to create the hair they want.
Whoever, ends up making this product would help/continue to distinguish their producer brand in the DAZ 3D store. There are specific producers I remember because they make very usefull/good products.

I would love to see such a product. I agree that the sales figures could be pretty good. However, I suspect that many potential vendors would prefer to make and sell multiple different hair products rather than a "universal" hair product. Whether a universal hair product would have greater sales than, say, four different styles sold separately, I don't know. You may well be right and the universal hair may become a "must have" product than could be supported by lots of texture artists and morphers. We can only hope that an entrepreneurial PA will take up the challenge.
It seems to me such a product would have to start as a base 'helmet' hair and all the add ons would need to be individually modeled geografts. Such a product would be very expensive.
Whoever makes such a product would do well to look at the classic Anime Doll Kit by Studio Maya/MayaX. That character came with a bunch of individual hair props, some morphing, that could be mixed and matched together to create multiple hairstyles. This included seperate bangs, bases, ponytails, and sides. Some of these props, such as the ponytails and the long hair base, had various morphs to change the shape of them, as well as to apply basic movement.
A similar thing can be seen with the freebie Sera character, who also comes with various hair props. Again, these include seperate bases, bangs, and tails/braids, though this time they use rigging for posing as opposed to morphs. I've used some of the Sera hair props before, including in this Sakura 8 render I did a while ago (click for bigger version).
Would have to agree with you on that since I have both Sera and the Anime Doll sets. They also did a set for Hitomi. Only problem with it honestly is the transmaps are more realistic than manga.

But I do agree it is probably time for another set top keep up with the generations.
Not exactly sure what you mean by expensive. I don't see the product as being very difficult to make either. Atleast you don't have to run around the world photographing scenery like they did to make Teradome. The product doesn't even have to come with textures. Although it would be nice to have the option like the hair made for Sakura 8 to have textures for one style and no textures like the images shown up on top that is more actual anime style. The base hair costs would vary depending how much value the creator can offer. Attachments/add-ons are further monetize the base hair product. There are creative ways for the producer to monetize it without appearing to make the product expensive.
That is an awesome render. How did you get to the final product in that render =o?

Also whoever makes this product gets to milk it for genesis generations to come lol.
