So the pro bundle at $52.90 would be correct then in that case?
Looks like nothing new was added to the March Mehness re-run (as far as I can see)? Not that it matters, since the original sale was an utter yawn.
There is a new sale today, for some reason it's just not showing up on the scrolling bar: https://www.daz3d.com/05-25-spring-fashions
But yeah, the "Best of March Madness" doesn't look like it's changed.
Interesting. $10 off a gift card. Okay, I put a $10 GC in the cart with two new "Spring Fashion" items, added the coupon, and yep: Free $10 GC. But I didn't proceed, as there's nothing in the "Must have" category for me.
There is a dead image with link, Daz is checking.
I'd already bought the two items I wanted from today before the sale banner (and the GC offer) even appeared, so I ended up buying them again with the GC included and put in a return claim for the original order

OMG. I grabbed the flowers as they will make wonderful scaled Alien plant life. And the hoody, which will look crazy when I flip the shaders on it.
And then a FREE gift card for $10, which makes one of those items, give me about 25cents if I consider it.
And then I picked up some really nice Featured Vendor products.
This has been an incredible week for savings.
This is what I was talking about and I'm very glad my (hourly lol) habit of checking in often has paid off. No pun intended.
So, there have been a couple decent sales recently... but nothing epic, Griffin. You came in right after the outrageously awesome sales stopped happening - and you've been getting excited for relatively modest sales ever since. :)
Today's sale is an example where the offer would get me to jump but the items offered frustrate me.
The Hoodie is cool looking, but I don't see a single promo with the hood down, nor a hood down morph. I know from my other hoodies that this is difficult and most often artists accomplish this by making two versions, a hood up and a hood down version. I also notice the hair used in all scenes is short... My guess is that without a lot of special custom d-forming work this content is limited. I already have hoodies I can make oversize with Fit Control... So, for $10 I'm a little "meh".
The remaining thing that is interesting to me, that I really want - is the neighborhood block... and being that it is 3 items in the bundle... there is this weird thing you have to figure out...
Is it cheaper to buy all 3 separately and then get the $10 gift card, or is it cheaper to buy the bundle and throw one of the other pieces of content in that I don't want or have quality concerns about? Which way is the better value? And if I buy all 3 separately, do I get the presets that load the neighborhood in different blocks, or does that mean I'm stuck with putting that together myself instead of having a one click solution depending on my needs?
When really... the bundle should qualify as 3 items by itself. They do this with bundles all the time on deals like this - enough that I think it is intentional to create that dilema in the customer's mind.
Generally speaking when I encounter this... when I have to think about if it is a good deal or not... it isn't the BEST deal I'm likely to encounter on this content. If I wait long enough, a better deal always comes along.
If it was, "Buy any of today's featured items and any other NEW item in the store and get a $10 gift cert," and I could just find a new item under $4... I'd do it. The bundle plus some other piece of $4 content that I might or might not use with $10 back would be a great deal.
But when the lowest second piece of content is above $8... that erodes the good-deal factor.
The giftcard sale looks like an attempt to reach out to people like me, who commented that the best-case of the last major gift card sale would give you $300 of store credit plus the needed qualifying items for $250, but didn't have $250 to spend at that point in the month. This looks like more of a low-cost approach to raising your store credit: your best deal is ~$22 of buyin items plus a $10 giftcard.
I appreciate the thought, but have to weigh up whether there's anything in that sale I can justify buying.

Oh, I saw the appeal instantly... Whatever you buy, you basically get $10 off on...
So, that house bundle for $24 is a good deal. Even for $28 it is a good deal (when you take the sale price and remove a $10 gift card). So if I could get it, find some other NEW item for around $4 that I *want* from a bigger selection of new items, I'd probably do it.
But the way it works, I'm paying $34 for the house bundle, then adding another item for around $9 that I don't want, then getting a $10 store credit.
OR I can just pay $34 for the house bundle... and not get a gift card...
Which... again... it takes a lot of analysis to go, "yeah, I'll wait for a better deal."
I mean... if you like the hoodie or the brambles, or the character, or something else - if you would normally purchase the home bundle plus one of the other items, then it is a good deal. For me, the home bundle is really the only content that interests me in today's sale.
There's one other thing to consider. If like me, your budget is already tied up in Store Credit, you have to decide whether or not to spend a bit more than is already budgeted. I like the MartinJFrost plants, and getting his latest for essentially 76% off by purchasing both and getting the gift card is a really good deal. But I'm then spending nearly $20 up front, out of my checking account, when I've already "beggered" that account by sinking hundreds into store credit when it was on sale.
So it's not quite the "no-brainer" deal it ought to be, for me.
I had one of those 'Doh' moments today. I had put something in my cart yesterday that was on sale, thinking that the sale would run for the weekend, but when I checked my cart this morning, yeah it wasn't on sale anymore. Sale is gone.
I should know better, but I was hoping for a 'Memorial Day' coupon or something. Ahh well, it's in my wishlist for the next time it goes on sale anyways...
It's really annoying that Daz doesn't routinely post end dates on all of their sales.
Hear, hear!
Isn't that what DAZ is hoping for -- to get you to spend even more?
Yes. And if I hadn't put so much money into store credit, I'd have checked out shortly after Daz Midnight™. As it is, I had to go through my bank accounts and see whether or not I could afford the cost up front. I did decide to get the MartinJFrost plants, and my net cost was $9.56 for both. Sadly, Collective3D's excellent neighborhood bundle will have to wait…
For a Best of March Madness sale to be a true rewind for me, I think they should offer the Aiko 8 pro bundle with another free pro bundle or two. I'd bite this time.
All the new OBJ files are missing their readme pages.
The weekend sales are certainly, meh. They pull out the stops and have some great short burst sales while people are a work and miss out on their $, but when the weekend rolls around the sales are just the opposite.
That's good common business sense.
A "really great bargain" to be talked about by the few that managed to be a part of it and all those who missed it. And only normal bargains when everybody is ready for them. Keeps the company from losing too much money by offering bargains
+1 on the bundles counting as more than one product. You're paying so much more, why would they count as one thing? Cart probably just doesn't have that capability though.
An axiom of programming, 'you can do anything with enough time and money'. This one, I think, is that they just don't care. It should be a very easy thing to add a y/n field and run a query to determine if the item qualifies as more than one item.
With all the other issues that the cart experiences, maybe we should be grateful they don't try.
+1
The $10 GC, well it may be a good way of generate fresh cash-flow as opposed to folks using their credit... But, not worth giving them more cash to get $10 off; I have plenty of store credit that I am happy leave as credit as long as is necessary.
But, as ever, different sales appeal to different folks, and sometimes different demographics.
Memorial day sale
more than half of my wishlist is on sale!
Same here. This is more like it - well done to Daz and the PA's.
In particular I have had Hellboy's "Big Afro Hair" in my wishlist for ages and never seen it on sale. Today, straight into the cart, along with the expansion pack.
My only problem now is that I have "accidentally stumbled" across the Stonemason sale items and I am struggling to show any restraint.
Keep an eye on your cart prices, as the discounts are appearing, then disappearing. Take screenshots before you buy, in case you get charged full prices.
I just saw this myself - I had a $53 total, then applied the PC monthly voucher and the cart shot up to $83. Several refreshes brought it back down and the voucher applied correctly on the second attempt.
Some Daz Originals (which are part of the Memorial Day sales list) are showing up with only 58% discount instead of 72% even with more than 3 items in cart from the sale.
I think the reason dForce Mysera outfit textures isnt getting the discount is because it is on one of the previous offer pages as an artist, so Daz excluded that artist from the Memorial day sale.
The dForce Mysera outfit textures are both "Daz Originals" and "Shox-Designs"
Shox-Design isnt included in the Memorial day sale list of artists. It is on the Floyd 8 promotion page.
Its not fair on those artists who are excluded from the Memorial day sale, but maybe Daz was worried about a stacking discount occuring and didnt have an easy way to disable it.
Some of the stuff in my cart has fluctuated in price too. I also seen an item that wasn't on sale become on sale. Careful folks with the discounts. I'm going to wait till it's fixed or settles down.
