...really like the new Floyd8 figure as he looks like someone you'd see in everyday life instead of an idealised fantasy hunk, and would work very well for several characters in my storylines.

However just to use the base figure (no bundle) will cost about 44$ (Figure + Head Morphs + Body Morphs) even with the PC+ DO coupon (which would knock 6$ off one of the morph add-ons, otherwise it would be almost 50$).  That is about what my monthly power bill comes to.  Then there's clothing and hair.

For the Pro bundle that would be a total of 87$ (including 22$ for the basic morphs).

Yeah, need a little more than an annual  2% living cost adjustment to keep up

did you actually try the pro in your cart with 3 addons and 3 bundles that are free

I think you will be surprised at the total

  • kyoto kidkyoto kid Posts: 41,869

...OK I put the Pro Bundle and the two morph sets with the "Good guys" add on and the total is 111.54$.  Not sure what bundles are "free"..

for me it ended at around $ 70.- with three addons (and the free bundles). And that includes having PC+

Not as good as what I got when I got Ollie so I'm not tempted enough to buy..

Two add ons will only get you an extra 10% off. You need THREE add ons, for the extra 20% off. Though the 70$ is only possible of you have PC+ and got the banner bonus 20% off as well. The free bundles are here: https://www.daz3d.com/05-23-meet-floyd-8#featured

With two add ons, you can chose two of those bundles.

What exactly is in your cart? There's just one morph set Good Guys. Also, sometimes logging out, closing the browser and logging back in in the Shop page, not the forum, again helps when there's cart snafu.

EDIT: I only get the higher price you have with two add-ons without the PC+. As you are in PC, you should have a lower price, 30% lower for the DO items. I really recommend logging out and in again as described above, so you really get the reduced price.

I had a green banner and when I clicked on it, it read "our records indicate you have already been a great supporter of the Genesis 8 product line". Then it told me to enjoy an extra 20% off. The total price for just the pro bundle was about $6 dollars more than what I paid for the Edie bundle (which was the last bundle I got I think).

    This is what I bought:

It all comes down to the extra green banner.  Even putting 3 items in my cart, the bundle cost is $52.90.  Not all of us get the extra code to reduce the price, despite spending an embarassing amount on Daz3D.

I read in another thread that it was "owning 4 G8 Pro bundles"... so, if you own them, you get the extra 20% off, if not... well yeah.

That seems like a really weird qulaification to me. Especially since I only own 3 g8 pro bundles and yet I got the 20% off for Mika AND Edie, but not for Floyd. I didn't buy either Mika or Edie, though since I'm not interested in female content, but it just seems weird to me that I didn't get it this time. Unless daz is doing it purposely; targeting mainly male content buyers with extra discounts on female stuff to get them to buy things they otherwise would not, and vise versa. I don't really know though that is just my theory.

Yeah, sure... I buy two items (I don't need and would not buy otherwise) to get a $ 10.- discount on a giftcard... devil

I read that same comment about the owning 4 G8 pro bundles.  I didn't buy Mika, Aiko, Kayrrisa or Sakura because I don't do anime/faeries.  So I'm not sure how they base it.

I'm not going to pretend I'm living paycheck-to-paycheck here, because I'm not; I make an extremely good living at what I do.  I would argue that's because I'm doing something not many people can do full-time, but the market is the market.  If it stops paying, I'll find something else to do.

With that said, some of you have at least one fundamentally wrong idea.

I do not set my own pricing, Daz3d does.  The decision to raise prices was Daz3d's, not mine; I was still charging 11.95 as base price point when they started going in and raising it on every individual item at the submission stage.  They still raise prices if I put in 17.95 on something they think should be 19.95.  They will not allow us to even come close to competing on the price point of their buyout items (the items in Platinum Club and the Daz Originals).  They can't afford to do that for other reasons, either.  Prices suddenly dropping as everyone tries to compete with DO pricing would chase talent out of the market.

Also, someone said something earlier about my tutorials.  Remember: if you get stuck, or need more information, I'm available to you via PM here or at sickleyield.deviantart.com (don't PM at Renderosity, please).  There may be some back and forth figuring out your specific issue, but I will give you real procedural answers to the best of my ability.

DAZ might not be able to afford to do that, but others don't have to be concerned about their needs.

And right now I have a browser page open looking at something somewhere else that is simply mindboggling value (even without the intro discount). Excuse me while I just nip off and buy it...

..I had the Pro Bundle, The basic 8M Body Morphs, 8M Head Morphs (don't have either yet), and Good Guys. After applying the 6 $ PC+ DO coupon (which only worked for the Body/Head morphs as the other two are new releases) that brought it to just under 111$.

Even just the Base Figure, the basic Morphs, and Good Guys it comes to around 61$ (after the coupon), which is still a bit rich for my budget

...I don't have one, not even a base G8 figure as I didn't feel there was enough of a difference from G3 to warrant getting into a whole new line. Floyd was the first G8 character to really catch my eye he is so unique (and useful for my needs) compared to just another iteration of Vicky, Aiko, Josie, Mike etc...

Are you logged in with that cart? As it is claiming you are not a PC+ member, which I assume you are as you are trying to use one of the coupons.

thanks for that explanation. interesting. It is without question prices on pretty much everything, not just DAZ stuff, are going up. Its bad news for people doing this as a hobby and espcecially on fixed income. I do spend more on DAZ items than I do on regualr clothing by a far shot. I'm someone that wears a pair of jeans until they turn into those holy $125 a pair fancy fashion jeans laugh

...yes.  This is what I am seeing:

    Floyd 8 Pro Bundle: 66.13$ (51% PC+/New Release discount)

Good Guys For Genesis 8 Male:  17.47% (30% New Release discount)

    Genesis 8 Male Body Morphs: 13.97$ (30% PC+ discount)

    Genesis 8 Male Head Morphs: 13.97$ (30% PC+ discount)

Total 111.54$ (105.54$ if coupon is applied).

I am getting all the correct discounts.  I do not get the 20% banner one because I have no G8 bundles or even figures yet.

Without the Body/Head morphs, the figure and Good Guys are pretty much useless.

You need one more item from the good Guys category to trigger the extra 10% discount that gives you the 37%/55% off.

As for the head/body morph, wishlist until next DO sale, I'd say. I mean, it's not like G8 wil suddenly become your work horse, and with the frequency of DO sales here... Or, you skip the entire bunch until a later sale. If you buy them at all. Entirely your choice.

...yeah but that would only save an extra 6$ which would be more than offset by the price of the second item.  As I mentioned, without the head and body morphs the figure is pretty useless. On my budget, no point in putting out the 83$ and change (especially near the end of the month when finances are even tighter) for the bundle and two items (the second one being Monty as he would work for some of my characters as well) if I do not have the other necessary components to use them.

As to the free bundle offer that is included, I already have most of the G3 figures I need and so many of these bundles come with content I would rarely if ever use as like I have mentioned, I am not into high/medieval fantasy or horror. Not even thrilled about the Viking and Wizard content in the Floyd Bundle (which again is why I shy away from Starter/Pro bundles in the first place).

On my fixed income I have to be extremely picky about what I purchase in that it would need to fill a use in my work.  That is why I wish there were more BYOB sales.

May just have to wait until G9 comes out and they deeply discount G8 to get him.

For some inexplicable reason I thought DO meant another store but I couldn't think what store initials was DO.LOL.

Defiantly need to keep talent in the market.

wow...seems prices are going up and up. the new stuff today, is way out there, not to say it isn't great stuff, but I'm still in the less than $10 range overall. SOmetimes splurge on a bundle, but I have to curtail my purchases,.
I'm not making any cash either, being on fixed income, but when prices go up, my pay doesn;t, so something has to give, and it has to be this.

Fastgrab or super sales are the only way for me now ... not a bad thing, maybe I will finally use all that stuff I bought in the past. I didn;t renew my PC+ again either, dont have the bucks right now.

Also, as the technology changes, my computer no longer fits the bill. I do not have an nvidia graphics card. CPU is ok, as I have a smewhat fast one, but i note slower and slower with the new stuff overall, and as each new version of DS is released.

Oh well ... just a thing I noted this morning.

Absolutelly agree with you.  Reason I took a 10 month break from 3D.  What disturbs me is, a lot of old content is still priced like new.  I love using V4, unless I catch a great sale, prices are still high.  I did most of my shopping at fast grab.  The more I progressed, I realized I purchased a lot of content I didn't need or never used.  Oh well, we live and learn, it's all part of life.
