Is there a way to change which vertexes are hidden?

I have a Long sleeve Shirt that I want to be able to make into a short sleeve shirt. When I hide the arms though... the result is a sleeveless shirt.
Is there a way to edit what gets hidden? A tool or plug in I can use to mark how much of the sleeve I want to have hidden?

the geometry editor will probably work depending on the shirt mesh. Just select the polys you want hidden and then create a new material zone and then turn the opacity down this will last if you save the file. If you just hide the polys, you will have to do this again if you save and reopen the file.. You could also take the shirt texture into photoshop and create a transparency map.
So the geometry editor method is permanent until I hide the polys?
I'm well versed with PS so I could probably do a transparency map easily. Is there a way to easily visualize the textures in 3D? Or do I just make educated guesses when creating the transparency map?
As long as you save the project file, the geometry editor method is permanent for that clothing, with that project, not the base clothing. bascially it's like having an alternate UV map. just hiding the polys is only good per session.
As for the photoshop method, you can either use an existing texture as a guide or d/l the templates on the download page. Either should give you a good guidline as to where the UVs are mapped
Thank you! The geometry method worked perfectly. Just had to read this tutorial: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/42088/tutorial-adding-surfaces-in-ds-with-the-geometry-editor-tool/p1
