" Big Sigh"  This is what I mean when I say the similar ol products being released over and over

Nothing againast the PA,  the wise wizard does look nice but everything comes separately forcing me to buy a bundle. When I already have a really nice grand wizard and he came with everything in one package. character ,clothes, beard, props,it all , So why do I need another one again?

So... Because you bought a wizard that was released over FOUR YEARS AGO, and two figure generations ago, you're complaining that ...again over FOUR YEARS LATER... "another" wizard is release? Really?

(Caps for EMPHASIS only, I'm not "yelling" - so please don't waste your time saying "calm down". I'm 100% calm and chill and enjoying some fun paranormal TV and a nice cup of coffee.) laugh

forget it you guys missed the point totally

This guy here is unique  will make this new wizard a good sidekick

Bolnnar the Dwarf for Genesis 8 Male(s)

That dwarf is pretty cool - RawArt does great characters! And now that we have X-Morphs I'm much more likely to buy his characters (now that we can separate the head and body morphs). :)

Maybe it's the Merlin and King Arthur fan in me but I always thought that skinny and slightly awkward young men make good wizard side-kicks/apprentices. hehe I'll have to keep an eye out for one of those to be released in the store. I think that Ollie might work if I can figure out how to make him look pretty young.

I was thinking the same ;) Maybe dial in quite a bit of younger character head and use a different texture other than Ollie's ;)

    Laurie

Oh that's a good idea! For sure a different texture and maybe a younger boy character dialled in. hmm I'll have to play around with it and see if I can make a decent apprentice. :)

Actually the one thing putting me off is the lack of depth on the dforce clothes - close ups can look odd.

    Um, what?

The edge of the cloth is infinitely thin; cloth has thickness and in closeups it looks odd.

I've been buying content here for a couple of years but I've (to my knowledge) never seen a base character sold WITH the hair. To assume that the hair comes with the character makes no sense to me if you've been shopping here for more than a few months.

BTW - the Wizard looks AWESOME, imo. Well done, Luthbel.

there are character with hair products here.

The few times it happens, they do cost more.

and in effect that is what the bundle is and I could not afford that

this way I got just the outfit which is all I wanted

Indeed; easier to allow folks to chose what they want.

If you can afford to buy the bundle, then buy it.  If you can't, just like in the real world, you save up til you can.  If it matters enough.  Cool looking wizard package.

    3) But the characters all have regular names. Why? There's nothing nerdy about the characters UNTIL you ADD the accessories.

That bundle is a Daz O and there is every possibility that those characters were put to the bundle after they'd been made and the creating PAs had no idea the theme would be nerds.

And it's not as if someone made a purchase and this is a huge rant against Daz. It's simply someone wishing (not a intense word, right there) that the default character came with the facial feature that solidifies his description.

It wasn't even a desire that it was included, just listed in products used (this spawned from another recent thread asking for PAs to list products used be listed on product pages).

There is a lot of give and take in 3D...even a bit of faking sometimes. We trade one thing for another. I think it's a better trade to have clothes that drape naturally even if they're a little thin. It's better than the stiff, unyielding tubes we've been using the last 20 odd years ;).

Almost all clothes are infinitely thin because it's INCREDIBLY hard to keep pokethrough from happening on clothing with thickness. Even conforming outfits; you'd need JCMs and MCMs for dozens of morphs and even then you'd probably miss a bunch. And it's even harder with dForce.

I mean, I can understand not being happy with that, but it just seems a little odd to comment on one particular outfit for it.

actually I made an interesting observation on this matter

the simple outfits I remeshed in Zbrush that I had created a skin for actually behave much better in Dforce and VWD than the single poly layered ones, and being two sided one can create linings etc

they were not so easy to rig and morph but drape beautifully

That's interesting... unfortunately until most customers can/will use dForce, that's going to be a problem. Heh.

I've thought of ways to solve the issue, including a geoshell, but it's pretty hard to pull off (mainly because of Iray's frustrating lack of micro displacement).

This is just a test render for lighting and settings.  I'm really liking this character!  I'm currently rendering him as Odin, The All Father from Viking culture (Proud Dane here!).

The nipple area. Yup, he better watch out, I think a rat's been chewing on them, or maybe he was tortured in the distant past in an ancient dungeon with fishooks (OUCH!) who's to say? cheeky Again; His SubDivision Level at default 2. Render SubD Level default 3. Render 100% @ 99% convergence. It'll be fun now to use him in a proper setting. I like so far.

I was going to say not everyone has perfectly pretty nipples and areola's but YIKES!  Done been chewed up and spit out!  surprise
