Slow loading of DAZ Site

Gusf1Gusf1 Posts: 258

Does anyone else have a serious lag on the site?  For the last week or so FireFox seems to stumble loading the site.  I get a yellow banner in my browser saying that the page is slowing down the browser and what to do about it.  I don't seem to have this problem on other sies, just this one.  I also thought it might be the fact that I display all for Number of items per page but, it also slows down on the forums.

Not serious, but certainly slow right now (2 AM Daz time). It happens periodically.

you could try killing your Daz cookies and letting them rebuild.

I have the same problem but mine is thanks to their need to have so much going on without taking into account that NOT everyone has through the roof internet speeds. I barely have 512 and it takes 4+ minutes to load the home page and then sometimes I have to refresh the page to see all of the images posted.

Chohole, Do you have any idea what cookies DAZ uses ?  I've never looked, so I am curious.

Shadowhawk 1, I don't THINK that's the problem for me as I have a 100 MB connection.  I do agree that they have a little too much going on though.

I just find the folder named daz in the cookies and delete that.  There are quite a few in the folder, some with names some with just numbers.

FireFox doesn't seem to have a FOLDER for cookies, but I searched the cookies for anything with DAZ in the name and deleted the 2 items that showed up.  It didn't seem to help.  I'll see what happens after a restart of the computer as I have to do something else for a little while.

Gus I have a 512kb speed not a 500mb connection I could get a 1mb connection but my ISP wants $180 a month for it.

I do know what your saying. $180 seems very expensive for 1mb.

Complain to your government. In Scandinavia the governments are trying to ensure that everyone have access to fast internet for a reasonable price. Because it's become such an integrated and necessary part of life that it's hard to do without.

$ 180 (=CHF 180 at the moment) is what I pay for 2 months for 100 MB, another 20 more would give me 1 GB (as my home network has) but some of my old computers can do hardly more than 250 MB. Fibre to the home was installed for free even in the small village in the Swiss alps where I live. Paid by two telecom companies and the community.

I am a Department of State contractor living and working in Iraq, our internet is purchased from a local ISP and run by the DoS so they set the price for our internet. They are the only provider and they know it is either them or nothing.
