The other clue r.e. when we might expect the next pro character to drop is that the Mika discount offer is good for another few days (until 5/23/18). Sure, they could run two Pro bundle sales concurrently, but that generally doesn't happen.
The site was pretty much down for a bit over an hour for me as well. Based on the fact that I could sorta kinda see pages occasionally (in text format), I'm thinking it was a cloudflare issue.
I'm getting "Error 503 Service Unavailable" when attempting to check store credit.

Yeah, I definitely had around $3000 in there but I bet it's down to about five bucks when he comes back from Nirvana.
Well I went to the store, stuck something in my cart, went to the check out and could see my store credit balance. cancelled out the order, went back to my account dasboard and found that my guru had stopped meditating.
"Try this granny's one neat trick to demeditate your store credit guru."
I didn't think those types of ads would actually work, but hey.

Looks like money saving weekend. I was hoping that more things would be added tothe related items as the sale progressed; but I'm only seeing the same few items.

A couple of nice products in the "Best of the Best" sale, but Daz has sure cut back on discount stacking, now. But that's okay. I'll wait to buy when things are back to what they were... or for the PA sales, whichever comes first. I got spoiled by the "Old" Daz3D offers, so I'm keeping my money until things are back to normal, Or not. "The customer is always never sometimes right!"
I REALLY like today's sale. I woke up expecting Day 3 of the Fantasy theme, but instead was presented with an opportunity to get the Gen 8 Pro packs that I didn't have, coming late to the party, at a very reasonable price. So, for me, it couldn't have been better :-)
I think somewhere in Daz headquarters the 'this sale sucks' alarms must have been going off over the High Fantasy weekend. (I too was turned off by the lack of the bundles changing over time.)
But, now I was able to pick up a Wizard and a whole bunch of the back catalouge, and blow through my entire store credit from that last GC sale. So, as a relatively late comer to the Daz party, I think I might now have enough stuff to sit back and cool off my Daz spending for a bit. :)

You had me excited until I noticed that Edward 8 wasn't included... he's a bit newer, and the newer 8 pro bundles aren't included, but I was hoping.
I would have picked him up also. as is, not much in there I need or want, but I do appreciate the sale. It's funny how headshop is in the sale, but facegen isn't. To bad as I might of picked up facegen for 65% off, oh well.
Ahh well, I'll get Edward someday. I went ahead and grabbed some HDD/SSD storage instead. My laptop is about to be upgraded to insane amounts of storage. It's currenty sitting at just shy of 2TB (almost full), half is an SSD Raid array, other half is a HDD. I am increasing things to @ 6 TB (2 TB NVME SSD, 2 TB M2 SATA SSD, 2 TB HDD), assuming that I don't re-use one of my 512GB SSD sticks (I have 2 NVME slots). The 'less than 25% space remaining on SSD' warnings are annoying...
Newegg had a sale, so I took advantage of some specials. I also grabbed an external HDD enclosure for the HDD I'm about to replace.
I'll probably just going to box the 2 512GB SSD sticks as backups, since they have the original OS install on them, along with a bunch of Daz files of course! I'll be cloning the OS Raid array over to the M2 SATA, then cloning it again over to the 2TB NVME (Samsung 970 EVO), wiping the M2 SATA when I'm done, using it for storage afterwards.
I'll probably pull the trigger on Mika 8 pro today though. The 10 freebies, well some of them are pretty nice so might as well.

Since I'm relatively new to Daz Studio I was considering to wait for a big sale to get some assets, but I am not very familiar with the typical timing of Daz Sales.
I'm not entirely sure this is the best thread to ask this, but after using the search function of the forum, this looked like the best bet.
Are Daz Sales similar to Steam sales: with two major sales (summer and christmass), sprinkled with occasional sales (black Friday, spring sales) and the occasional flash sales?
or is it just totally random and you just need to be constantly on the fence to check potential sales (e.g. bookmark the bundles and assets you are interested in and check them regularly)?

There should be a big sale in October, but there are sales every day - some meh some good. I found the Xmas sales to be 'ok', but the March sale which I guess was great in the past (I've only been here since July) was pretty poorly received by most.
Check out this thread - it has an add-on app with email alert that tells you when stuff you want is on sale plus other great searching ability. It is a great app IMO -

I wait for the new character releases to pick up free Gen 7 bundles sometimes. Patience is the key here - just start a big Wishlist like I do, and happy hunting!
There are three major "event" sales every year—assuming nothing changes—March Madness in March, the PA Festival in September, and the PC Anniversary in October. The PA Festival typically goes on for 5, sometimes 6 weeks, and the PC Anniversary picks up the following day for a minimum of 4 weeks. This means there isn't much "down time" before Black Friday weekend, and December holiday sales. While there have always been really great deal from Black Friday through the end of the year, it isn't an "event" sale like the other three.
My advice to you is to buy as little as possible while you are learning the program. Join the Platinum Club early, as there are a lot of PC+ products at relatively cheap prices, as well as one free product every week. (and another one every month.) Grab freebies from here and other sites. Hang out in the New Users forum and enter the challenges and contests. I've found there's nothing like a challenge to stretch your skills. The more you know about the program, the less money you'll spend on products you end up never using. (Most of us have a lot of those!)
Remember, though, unlike other sites, Daz has a 30 day money back guarantee. So if you start out slow and find something you bought isn't necessary or doesn't do what you were expecting, you'll still have time to return it. Trust me, the older content will go on sale again and again, and the new releases will qualify for those sale prices after 60 days. Chances are you'll spend enough money here over the next several years to pay cash for a half-way decent used car. Just don't be in a big hurry, and you'll end up with a bit more for that investment!
Hello @Grey001, I second what @ItsCEO said. The last March Madness sale was eh at best. If you're looking for female products, you are in luck. There are a lot of them in the market. If you are looking for male items, good luck. They are few and far between.
It's a good idea to do a search on the store 'lowest to highest' prices to see what's out there for free. Check out the Fast Grab periodically too.
Then, what ItsCEO said, patience truly is important. Browse by genre or artist and find what you like, create a wishlist, use the app for price notifications and then kiss your money goodbye. :D

Thank you everyone for the various details about the sales in Daz and for the advices on the freebies.
I strongly suspect that the statement "Chances are you'll spend enough money here over the next several years to pay cash for a half-way decent used car" might be frightfully true if I indulge in the various temptations offered by the shop, but if my Daz purchasing habbits are going to be similar to my Steam purchasing habbits, I'll end up with an endless wishlist of 200+ products waiting for the right time, the right discount%, and the right bank balance

The one good thing is that I'm really not in a hurry, so I can sit and let items in my wishlist rot for months/years while I'm polishing my skills and familiarizing myself with all the features and details.
Also, since I create stuff on a 4 year old laptop with a GT 870M, I try to be realistic and avoid buying a nice shining Ferrari (bundles, assets, morphs) which won't go anywhere because it's fitted with a tractor's engine (my limited hardware capabilities).

Strange, there's no PA sales today - only the day's new releases.
And it looks to me that several older sales disappeared very soon- too soon for me (like the historical hair).
If this keeps up (Daz reducing discounts, increasing prices, offering fewer products in sales, etc) the store may need to be renamed "MEH3D". I feel really sorry for the vendors, because it's their pockets that are being hurt most. When was the last customer "feeding frenzy" here? December '17???

I suspect tomorrow (or Thursday) will be a mainly DO day aswell if that is when the latest Gen 8 base figure comes out (almost certainly Floyd 8)
