Do you have the nipple morph on? They look awfully flat, and the morph might have been taken into account when making the texture.

I've been buying content here for a couple of years but I've (to my knowledge) never seen a base character sold WITH the hair. To assume that the hair comes with the character makes no sense to me if you've been shopping here for more than a few months.

BTW - the Wizard looks AWESOME, imo. Well done, Luthbel.

I was going to ask the same thing. The nipples don't look erect in those renders, but do in the clay promo ones.

I went ahead and got the old wiz. It is rare for the teeth of a character to be shown in the promo illustrations. I use the G8 because they have the full face smile, get all those extra facial features in action. Here, the wizard is not bad, but the teeth were too white, and the canines too sharp for the apparent age of the character. Beardless, the wizard has an overly cleft chin for my preference. He also resembles Abe somewhat. With the full beard, which I shortened, those mustachios are great, and the beard meets up to the Ricardi  hair very nicely. The beard length is about the longest I've seen my brother wear. It's kind of a thing with him and his buds.

Same here - at least not Luthbel. The last character and hair Luthbel did was all separate too ;). I don't mind. I'd rather have them all separate and have to buy a bundle than have them all in one product that I'd have to buy, say, if I didn't want the character or hair and I'd still have to buy the entire thing.

I don't think Ivy was complaining about the quality of the character, only maybe the scope of this one. I don't even think she was complaining...just maybe agonizing a little out loud. We all do it a little :)

The nipples are not dialed in on the previous images. They don't not automatically dial in with any character morph at Daz. You have to turn the nipples on. This is with them on.

That may be, but it's very very rare (the VAST majority of the characters that are released here do NOT come with the hair). So my point still stands that it's kind of silly to assume that it does come with the character. Also, you say "the promo pics show him with beard" - of the ELEVEN promo images for the character only TWO show him with the beard. And every character that gets sold here shows hair in the promo images, but generally, we don't assume that the hair is included with the character.

Nothing againast the PA,  the wise wizard does look nice but everything comes separately forcing me to buy a bundle. When I already have a really nice grand wizard and he came with everything in one package. character ,clothes, beard, props,it all , So why do I need another one again?

So... Because you bought a wizard that was released over FOUR YEARS AGO, and two figure generations ago, you're complaining that ...again over FOUR YEARS LATER... "another" wizard is release? Really?

Most of 3D Universe's characters come with the hair in the same product, so it is not unknown. However he does label them as such, and like others have said the majority of characters come without hair.

Actually he and his sister have several products that include hair. The desperado outfit, the horror survivor set, eldrich seeker, etc. The hair comes with the clothing which may explain why some miss it.

This set looks great, but as noted by a few others, I really don't have a need for wizards in my images much, so it's hard to justify a purchase

I have to say this is one of those threads that makes me realize I must shop way different from a lot of y'all. I don't think I've ever bought something without reading through the "what's included" list. If there's anything I'm still unsure I just go to the readme, (Daz doesn't hide it, but shoutout to the Daz deals add-on for making this super, super easy) where literally every single included file is listed.

... And I’m on team “ack please fix those nips.”

LMAO That's certainly one way of putting it. ;-)

And I will say I grabbed the entire lot. This wizard stuff was right up my alley.

You don't because you are satisfied with what you have.  But new people who just got started with Genesis 8 wont be looking at that for G8M, they will be more interested with the new and shiney dForce labeled stuff.  Digital products are no different then physical products in that what was made and sold 10 years ago is being made and sold today.  Its just different while simular.  No one HAS to buy anything though, we each get to choose.  Those of us with a large content library may be less inclinded to buy new stuff if we are happy with what we have and what we can do with it.  But that wont stop new stuff from being made because there is always new people comming in.

I haven't been able to spend in a while, but I needed a new wizard. I too have Mec4D's wizard but just couldn't keep using it over and over, but that's perhaps a subjective thing, he is a fantastic wizard though, no problem there. I had to grab the bundle & expansion + a 10% banner discount. I like him so far. His nipples up close look like something's been chewing on them though, lol.
Out of the box, I grabbed a quick hdri (Dimension theory's RealWorldHdri). His SubDivision Level at default 2. Render SubD Level default 3. Render 100% @ 99% convergence.

Thanks for this  great render, I really like his look- and can't wait to mix in some other morphs.

I don't mean to pile it on, Ivy, and maybe it's just me, but I really don't see the grand wizard robe looking at all like the new wizard tunic and cape. Wizards don't interest me at all, but I can use the new tunic for king's councilors, bards, Elves, all kinds of things... and that cape done in dark leather looks very cool over armour... and that dragon staff is just gorgeous!

I love him and have been eagerly awaiting his release.  I was thrilled to see the bundle, so glad I didin't have to buy it all piecemeal.  High fantasy at its best, with so many options. Don't have time to play tonight but hopefully soon!  I will get a TON of use out this,  there are so many other things he can be used for and there are never enough older/elderly men (as in almost non existent} and changing up his hair and beard makes him super versatile.  And, Luthbel's stuff is always very well made.  I I have no problem with the fact that I own every wizard outfit out there - BUT, fantasy art is my first love ( I buy as many of the fairies as I can afford and am not in the least bit ashaimed of it lol).  but I understand if you don't do that kind of render it may not be for you.

Because then it looks like characters are always in freezing weather :D

Just like the navel creates a vacuum in shirts/dresses. It's just a convenience instead of people having to make projection morphs every time. Sometimes you want the nipples making a dent in the clothing, sometimes you don't. Same with the navel. By keeping those separate, it leaves it up to the user. If they dialed in with the base morph, you'd have to manually dial them out (a shaping preset wouldn't do it). This makes setup clickable as well as dialable.

Because then you'd have umpteen threads of people asking, "Why am I getting pokethrough on the chest every time I dress this guy? What's going on? ... Whaddya mean, the nipple morph is on and I have to turn it off? Why would you even DO that? Not everybody is cold all the time, people!" And so forth.

Vaguely somewhere near on topic (...whatever that might actually be, because WOW has this thread wandered over yonder), I will admit to going back and forth on this one. On the one hand, I mostly don't need a wizzard. But I do use older guys. But he's kind of an unusual older guy. But I do like Luthbel's older guys. But but but .... I don't know.

... Wonder what it would look like to do one-third Wise Wizard, one-third Edward, and one-third Ollie mixed together? Hmm....

That dwarf is pretty cool - RawArt does great characters! And now that we have X-Morphs I'm much more likely to buy his characters (now that we can separate the head and body morphs). :)

Maybe it's the Merlin and King Arthur fan in me but I always thought that skinny and slightly awkward young men make good wizard side-kicks/apprentices. hehe I'll have to keep an eye out for one of those to be released in the store. I think that Ollie might work if I can figure out how to make him look pretty young.

I was thinking the same ;) Maybe dial in quite a bit of younger character head and use a different texture other than Ollie's ;)

    I think

    1) Confusion was caused by the solo figure's name. He's called WISE WIZARD. What makes that character a Wise Wizard? Just the fact that he's an older male?

    2) The character in a bundle with a theme still has a regular name. This nerd's bundle has a theme.

    https://www.daz3d.com/lovable-nerds-bundle

    3) But the characters all have regular names. Why? There's nothing nerdy about the characters UNTIL you ADD the accessories.

I don't think it's such a big leap to assume (in this case) that super, special, incredible beard was a huge draw and images without the beard could easily be taken as "here's other options- without the beard in case you were curious" lol Because what he looked like without the beard is also just as important. The main promo has the beard and the FIRST promo pic has the beard. After that, all those other pics are showing his body which would be obscured by the beard and that might be another reason to have removed the beard from the pics.

Of course you should read the read me and check the included props and ask questions and...and...

And it's not as if someone made a purchase and this is a huge rant against Daz. It's simply someone wishing (not a intense word, right there) that the default character came with the facial feature that solidifies his description.

I'm okay with this as it is. If anything, maybe the bundle could have been even more complicated, like ...

    a) Marlin Older Gent ( for those with that nifty Santa beard)

    b) Older Gent + Wizard's Beard (For those with 8 million robes or don't use deforce)

    c) Older Gent + Wizard's Beard + Wizard's Robe and Accessories. (For those that THIS is their ultimate or first wizard!!!!)

Keep in mind that when PAs create commercial threads its so they can try to keep track of questions and comments from customers. There are questions, comments and suggestions in this thread that Luthbel may never see.
